Two Dutch names that aren't very common: Jilles or Bartel.

Which do you prefer?

    Bartel!
Jilles sounds more French to me.

Do you think Jilles also sounds French if you pronounce it in a Dutch way: Jìlluhs (approximately)?

Jilles! Or Gilles, I think that sounds even nicer.
Bartel sounds really unpleasant to me, and anyway, a lot of people will just make Bart out of it..
    And congratulations

    Bartel! Super cute name!

I don't think Jilles works well in French, and in Dutch, it doesn't sound nice with that 'u' sound at the end.
Bartel: then I'd rather just go with Bart.

I don't find either of them beautiful.
I just think Bart is much more beautiful. Or Jules instead of Jilles. But well, that's not a Dutch name then.

Well, it's more that I'm thinking about Jilles... how would you pronounce it? And the first thing that comes to mind is that it's probably French.

I can't find anything for Bartel. I do like Jilles in its Dutch form! I know two young men who are called that (actually Jillus). Great name!

Jilles! Or Gilles, I think that's really nice too

I like Jilles, but only if it's pronounced in a Dutch way, but I also like Bartel.
But it doesn't matter what we think, as long as you like it.

Both are lovely, very Dutch names, and a plus is that you don't hear them endlessly often! I find Jilles easier to pronounce somehow, and would go for that, but Bartel is also not bad. Good luck with your choice!

I think Jilles is more beautiful!
Although I do think a lot of people will pronounce it with a French accent.
