Nauseous and now no idea?

Hi everyone

I'm Celine, 26 years old, and I've been trying to get pregnant for 4 months now. Last time I got my period, it was shorter than usual but still within a normal cycle. I should be getting my period again in 11 days, but I've already had severe nausea for almost a week. It gets better when I force myself to eat something, but then it comes back in waves throughout the day. I took a test yesterday and it was negative. Should I wait until my period or ask my GP what to do? I'm really focused on wanting to get pregnant, but this is the first time I've felt nauseous.

Just wait until your period is due, and if it doesn't come, then test. Testing 11 days before your period is too early to get a positive result.
I sometimes got my period 2 days early. So I think you probably just had your period back then.

Thanks for your reply! Yeah, it also seems unlikely to me that I'm pregnant, but I'm not feeling well because of the nausea, bleh... but maybe it's all in my head...

It's always exciting, going for a baby. Then every month feels too long haha. I'm rooting for you to be pregnant. Will it be your first?

@proud_mommy yeah it'll probably be my first. I've been with my boyfriend for 11 years and I've wanted kids for a long time, but he didn't, so now he wants to "finally" have a baby too. Hopefully we'll have some good news soon!

Oh, that's so nice. I'm rooting for you that it works out like that. Super exciting. Especially when you've wanted it for a long time, but your partner isn't ready yet.

I had that during my ovulation period, feeling nauseous all day. My husband said, "You're pregnant," and he was right, it was a bit early. And it lasted until 1 week before my period.

Ah, that's so sweet to read here! Yeah, my boyfriend said that too, and I replied that it sounds stubborn to me, but you never know... With my mom, it also didn't show up on the home tests; they only found out at the hospital that she was really pregnant. That doesn't mean anything about me, of course, but if it's not like this time, we'll just hope and move on????

    And?

Your body can take months to adjust after stopping the pill, if you were using it. The hormones from the pill leave your body quickly, but then your body has to start regulating itself again. That’s when you might suddenly experience vague symptoms. That could be related. I really hope this round is the one! Good luck!

Just a quick update: I'm 3 days late, but I got a negative test yesterday, so I've decided to test again on Saturday if I still haven't gotten my period! I do have some mild cramps for a few days now, but nothing compared to my usual period cramps. How's it going for you all?

@celine if you're 3 days overdue, it should really be positive now, even if it's very faint! Could it be that you ovulated on a different date? Nervousness and stress can delay it too.

    Good luck with the waiting!

Hey shootingstar! Well, today is day 5 of my missed period. I took two tests again—one early detection and one regular—but both are still negative. So I guess I'll assume my ovulation was later than usual, which means my period will come later too. Ugh, trying to get pregnant isn't doing wonders for my stress levels.

@celine I know all about it! But as you spend more time trying, the stress changes too, and you start thinking it'll work out. At least that's how it was for me; I finally got pregnant after more than 2.5 years with ICSI.

Good luck! Hope you get your period soon so you can move forward!

@shootingstar aah, that's nice to hear that it finally worked out for you guys! Enjoy this beautiful moment! Yeah, I just need to put it aside more often.
