Ovulation tests. Help!

patricia18!
My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for a while now.
Due to the contraceptive pill and irregular bleeding, I've decided to test regularly with ovulation tests.
I'm really worried it'll take a long time because our desire for a baby is so strong.
Every day the lines seem to be the same as today, but after today it suddenly looks a bit darker. While I was actually supposed to get my period on December 2nd. What does this mean? Can someone help me?

Sometimes ovulation tests can show positive results during pregnancy. Since you haven't had your period yet, it could be that.
Do you have a pregnancy test at home? You're past your NOD, so morning urine isn't necessary anymore! Good luck and let us know the result!

How long have you been off the mini pill now?

From how many days after your period did you start testing?

If you're irregular, you don't know when your period is due, right? If you've been using ovulation tests correctly, it looks like ovulation is coming up.

I’ve been off the regular pill for three months now. Before that, I was on the contraceptive injection for about six months.

I have a pregnancy test at home, but I’m afraid of being disappointed.

@Patricia: it's totally normal to feel anxious about that... but being stuck in this uncertainty isn't helping either. Did you have a normal cycle two months ago, where you got your period on your expected day? And did you get a positive ovulation test 14 days ago?

Unfortunately, I haven't had a positive ovulation test yet.. .
In those two months, I've only had an irregular cycle. That's why I don't really know how many days my cycle lasts, etc., and when I'm in my fertile period.

That changes things! I thought you meant you knew you were ovulating based on a positive OPK test. In that case, I'd keep testing for a bit longer and see if the lines fade. If they do, that means you've ovulated, so you could expect your period in about 14 days.

Hey Patricia, yeah, irregular cycles make it really hard to know the right time. What helped me was keeping a little journal and noting down my symptoms daily. E.g., discharge (none, lots, stretchy), e.g., stomach ache or headache,... And when you get your period, count 14 days back to figure out when ovulation was, and maybe you'll start seeing a pattern of recurring symptoms. At first it doesn't seem that clear, but after a while you know your body and know when the moment is approaching. I always had a splitting headache 3 days before ovulation, and it turned out not to be a coincidence. Also, the day before ovulation I was always exhausted and had stomach pain. It matched every single time. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long. But maybe this helps you get to know your body. I also had to wait a long time at first, and now I got pregnant right away, partly thanks to the "symptoms" I recognized and without ovulation tests.

    Is this negative or positive?

This one is positive, but are these extra sensitive tests? Sometimes they stay positive for a long time, and it counts if you really have a thick line. Better save your tests, note the date, and compare whether it gets darker or lighter.

He’s been light all week, and only today for the first time it’s been dark.

Then I think your LH peak is coming. I'd say... try every other day and keep testing daily until it gets lighter again.
