"Classic" boy's name

AnonymousGuest ·
Hi! 20 weeks along and we now know we’re having a boy!
But we haven’t settled on a name yet. We do have a list of names we like. It’s leaning a bit towards old-fashioned/classic names, apparently that’s our taste.
I’m very curious for an outside opinion, so I’m throwing it out here. Would love to hear what you think of the names.
Here they are:
Abel

Arnout

Axel

Bastiaan

Bartel

Berend

Dieter

Ernst

Floris

Pieter

Roemer

Siebren

Tjalling

Wieger

Wijnand

I think most of the names are nice. For example, Floris, Pieter, Abel, I'd give Bastiaan.
You shouldn't burden a child with the name Ernst, I think, haha.
There are quite a few special names in there, like Bartel or Wieger. I find them nice, but you have to dare to use them.

I think Siebren is super cool!

I really think Abel and Axel are super cute, not old-fashioned or anything!
Bastiaan, Floris, and Pieter I also find nice and good names.

Arnout, Bartel, Berend, Dieter, Ernst, Roemer, Siebren, Tjalling, Wieger, and Wijnand I really don't find beautiful and really too old-fashioned.

    Congratulations!
Nice names, though I wouldn't go for Dieter or Tjalling.
What do you think of Dorian or Olivier?

There are some really nice names in there! I think Wieger, Roemer, Berend, and Abel are truly fantastic. I also like Floris, Pieter, Bastiaan, and Axel, but they're not particularly special to me. The rest isn't really my thing, I guess.

Congratulations! My favorites are Abel, Bastiaan, Berend, Floris, and Siebren.
I find Arnout really too old-fashioned, Noud is much better. Axel doesn't sound nice to me. The other names aren't my personal favorites, but I don't think they're bad.
Some other options: Olivier, Samuel, Mathijs, Thomas, Sebas, Christof, Lex, Laurens.

Nice to finally see some fairly normal names that aren't trendy.
I like your list up to Bartel. And the last 5 are really not. The ones in between are meh.
Arnout, Axel and Bartel are my favorites (pity I didn't think of Bartel earlier)

If we're blessed with having another baby, we'd like to name him Abel (if it's a boy, of course We really think it's a beautiful name.

What a nice list! We had several names on ours too! I just type an association for each one!
    Abel: nice, strong, tough!

    Arnout: meh

    Axel: meh

Bastiaan: I think a shorter name for a boy is tougher, but it's a nice name though.

    Berend: no

Dieter: a bit of a failed Pieter

    Ernst: no!

Floris: amazing! My husband didn't like it, but it was my favorite!

Pieter: fine, but not really special and also a bit overdone

    Roemer: okay

    Siebren: Super! Very nice!

    Tjalling okay

    Wieger meh

    Wijnand no.

Maybe also: Felix, Hidde, Maurits, Robert, Thijmen, Rutger, Hanze?

    Jesus, what terrible names!

But luckily, others think these are normal names (I find the last 5 a bit less so).
