To the doctor or not?

Hi everyone,
Last year in October we started trying...
In February a positive pregnancy test... Unfortunately in March at the first ultrasound it was a miscarriage... baby died at around 6 weeks...
In June another positive test... unfortunately in July found out it was ectopic... after two methotrexate injections eventually had emergency surgery, left fallopian tube removed.
Now we had to wait 3 months after our last mtx injection... so on October 12th we could start again...
First attempt now unfortunately without success.
This whole “journey” is starting to weigh more and more on me... friends who started trying with me are now walking around with a 5-month-old baby...
They often say after a year you can go to the doctor. But does that count for me too... since we did become pregnant twice in that year...
Anyone here with experience? Advice for ;-)

Hi Leen, trying to get pregnant and stay pregnant can sometimes be a long and frustrating journey. Especially when it seems like everyone around you is either getting pregnant or not having any luck. Since it doesn't seem like conceiving is an issue for you two, I think a doctor's visit might not help much. Keep trying and stay positive! Good luck!

Wow, that's intense! A miscarriage is already no joke, let alone a stillbirth.

I myself was pregnant for 7 months back in April 2016, and by late November 2016 I was referred to the hospital for an internal ultrasound, etc. Everything was fine, and they advised me to try again until May 2017 since the first miscarriage would then be a year old. In late December 2016 I got a positive test, in late January 2017 I had a spontaneous miscarriage, in April I got another positive test, and now I have a 10-month-old boy.

So you can definitely ask for a referral if you want to.

@Leen, maybe it's a good idea to ask your GP for advice about this?
I completely understand after everything you've been through that you'd like to speak with a doctor, but I know from experience (unfortunately) that once you've taken the step to go to the hospital, there's often a long wait (waiting lists and certain procedures), although every couple and every hospital is different of course ;-)
Anyway, I hope for a beautiful test soon and that everything goes well
