HUGE disagreement

Hi! Have you guys experienced that you and your partner have totally different tastes?
My boyfriend finds names like Liv, Puck, Jip, Aaf, Suus, Fien etc. beautiful. Short sounds and Dutch, so. I get really itchy from those. Standard names like Sanne, Lotte, Iris, Anouk are really not my taste.
I love English (or French) names that are longer: Scarlett, Alexis, Giselle, Chloé. He finds those too ordinary.
Does anyone have nice tips? She has a French last name that doesn't occur very often.
Thanks!

    Olivia nickname Liv?

Yeah, I’d already thought about that nickname-style construction.
But still... then your kid would just be called Liv in everyday life. Unless she’s going to fly
But definitely something to consider. Thanks

No matter how tricky it is, I'd try to find a middle ground.
That can indeed be done with a longer first name and a shorter nickname:
Olivia - Liv / Alexis - Lexi etc.

Or find a middle ground in the nickname itself.
For example, something shorter, but still chic:
Amé, Aster, Bodil, Daphne, Elin, Leah, Lena, Loïs, Pippa, Rava, Suze, Tessa, Thirza, Veerle
Or something longer, but still tough and fairly standard:
Carice, Elise, Elodie, Fenna, Hannah, Isabel, Isolde, Jolijn, Julia, Karlijn, Rosalie, Sarah, Valerie, Willemijn

Just a random throw, from some names =P

Congratulations! I’d also always go for a kind of middle ground. The options mentioned above are good examples of that, I think. Here are some other options from my side:
Alice / Ellis Lucy Dana Sofie Fiene Philine Celine Loïse Liselotte Valerie Suze Sua Lauren (sounds Dutch, but is also perfectly international) Elize Felice Nina Niene Pippa Violet Vivian Kate Nora Hannah Madelief Leonie Livia Lova Liva Mirte

Thanks for all the suggestions!! I'd really prefer to pick a middle name that we both like, instead of a nickname/real name.
Felice, Bodile and Violet sound good.. luckily I still have a little time .

I immediately think of Lea... maybe because I know a French/Dutch baby with that name.

The keys were acting weird, I mean Marilene might be nice?

Hi! Then I'll continue on the tour of Bodile, Violet, and Felice:
Bodine Nadine Isabeau Lune Margot Pascalle Belle Raisa Carice Salomé Madée Tamar Lutesse Jolet Jolé Jalou Danae Jolie Julot Celeste Gisèle Solene Reve Lilian Sita Lotus
