Who else has experienced the same thing?

Hi,
I have the following and would love to hear stories from others who have experienced this too.

Had my last period on August 14, got a positive test on September 14.
Had an ultrasound on October 12 and they saw an empty gestational sac. According to the doctor, I should wait for a miscarriage. Yesterday I had a little bit of bleeding. This afternoon I lost brown blood. Also had another ultrasound this afternoon and this time a fetus of 5 weeks was visible.
I’m going back in 2 weeks to see if the heartbeat is there.

According to the calculations I should have been 10 weeks, but apparently I’m only 5.
Who has experienced this too?

Thanks in advance.

No experience with it, but what luck that you're pregnant anyway! And it's nice that they did a second ultrasound, right!!! Enjoy your pregnancy!

That sounds really familiar to me! I tested positive on October 11th. Obviously, I was so happy. But on October 12th, I started bleeding. Not a lot, but it did worry me. I thought I was about 6 weeks pregnant. Because of the bleeding, I called my midwife. I was able to get an ultrasound that same afternoon. On the scan, a very tiny gestational sac was visible, but it couldn't be measured. According to this woman, the baby had apparently stopped growing at around 4 weeks, and I had to wait for the miscarriage to complete.

It's been a week now. The bleeding hasn't gotten worse and has actually stopped completely. I'm getting a new ultrasound next week to see if there's any growth after all.

I really hope it turns out to be a good pregnancy like it did for you!

When I went to the ultrasound for the first time, I was about 7 weeks pregnant, but the gestational sac looked like it didn't contain a fertilized egg. The sonographer called it a blighted ovum. I had to come back for a follow-up a week later, and everything turned out fine. I didn't have any bleeding either.

    I'm 23 weeks pregnant now ;-)

Between my other two kids, I had a miscarriage. I started bleeding and had to go to the hospital that same evening. It was a miscarriage (I was about 8 or 9 weeks pregnant then). I didn't need a D&C, but I had to wait until the bleeding stopped and my blood levels went back down. The tricky part is that you still have all the pregnancy symptoms until your levels are completely zero. But all in all, you forget all the misery pretty quickly because after a few months, I was pregnant again with a healthy son...
