Poor drinking 5/6 months

Hi ladies,
Does anyone of you recognize this and have tips? My kids don't want to drink much lately! It's really inconsistent, they can take a lot but usually only drink about 100-150ml. I offer them at these times: 7-11-15-19-22. After a night's sleep, I expect huge hunger, but one drinks 20 ml, the other 100. And it goes on like that throughout the day, the bottle never gets emptied (while they used to finish bottles of 210+7!)
Very rarely the bottle goes down well, sometimes even a 260 ml bottle! I can't figure out why it does or doesn't.. I also offer them fruit, they often take 6/7 good bites of that. But not so enthusiastic that I could switch to solid food..
I'm frustrated, I'd rather see them drinking well. Still, they're doing fine, sleeping and playing and stuff. That's a relief!
Do you have any tips for me? Greetings!

Hi sweetheart, it sounds like the kids are happy and healthy. That’s of course the most important thing, but I know that eating is something you can worry a lot about as a mom. My daughter is now 9 months old and it’s very relatable. I think children slow down their growth rate around the age of your kids compared to the beginning. The growth curve flattens out a bit and doesn’t go straight up anymore. As long as they’re gaining weight (according to their own curve) and have good wet diapers, you’re doing absolutely fine.

Hi Floydi, thanks for your message! I don't know if they'll come around, I haven't weighed them in a while. But even though they're happy babies, I'm still a bit frustrated.. I feel like I've lost inspiration to get them back into a routine, e.g., so they drink well again. Anyway, last night she drank the bottle nicely again, 240 ml. Yeah! But this morning it was 120 and 80.. Oh well, like everything it's probably just a phase, but this mom isn't too fond of it!
Have you done anything with fixed times for drinking and sleeping? Or other moms reading this, how did you manage it around 5 or 6 months?

Hi sweetheart, you're trying with all your might to establish a rhythm, and then they turn it upside down again. That's how it goes every few weeks Pity, indeed, but it'll be fine. I fed on demand for a long time, and then a rhythm emerged naturally. Try to follow the little one's needs, but you're doing great anyway, lady! You're a mom of twins, and that seems pretty tough! Everything will be okay.

Sweetheart, that's annoying if they're not drinking well! Maybe weigh them once if you have the chance, then you can see right away if they're growing well.
I think if they're really hungry, they'll let you know. Have you started practicing with bottles? Maybe that's why they're drinking less.
My daughter was also very distracted from drinking around that time; anything she heard, she'd stop drinking immediately.
Around 5-6 months, I think we went from 5x160 to 4x200 (well, breastfeeding). But if I gave her, say, 160 instead of 200, she was fine with that too. But she wouldn't drink more than 200.

Hi Beagle, I arranged a scale last night. But I also want to have the vet take a quick look at her; she's restless at night too...

Sweetheart, if you offer it regularly and they're alert and cheerful, there's nothing to worry about. And if you're unsure, just ask the health center?

That makes sense, Lizzie. I've been watching it for a week, but when I look at the night feeds... Last night, a 200ml bottle at 7pm, she was very happy with that. At 10:30pm they actually didn't need anything, just 40ml each, and then this morning they had a good appetite but still only drank 110ml. That's really little, I think, with 12 hours between feeds.. I'll find out today!

Sweetheart, that's indeed not much between feeds. Maybe they don't need the evening/night feed anymore? You could try skipping it?
And if they're both doing it, there's probably nothing really wrong. And if they're cheerful and happy! I totally understand that you're worried though!
