Bladder infection, does anyone have tips?

Dior
Hey hey!
Thanks for taking the time to read! I might have a slightly weird question hihi.

My urine is currently being cultured at the GP because they think I have a bladder infection.
I had a burning sensation and bleeding (pink urine) and then nothing else.

But now I've been walking around for a few hours with this awful "butterflies in the stomach" feeling.

Is this normal with a bladder infection? Are there any others who recognize this from a bladder infection?

And is there anything I can do about it? Because it's really driving me crazy haha!!

Hi Dior, that sucks so much that you have a bladder infection. That's anything but comfortable. That feeling of butterflies and the burning when you pee, plus the constant urge to go to the toilet. I don't even want to think about it because I've experienced it a few times myself (minus the bleeding). What really helps is drinking heaps of water, not holding it in when you need to pee but going to the toilet, and something that's often the cause of a bladder infection is having sex. It's recommended to pee everything out after sex. Not exactly handy when you're trying to conceive, but I've read somewhere that there are often women who get bladder infections from infections they pick up during sex.
Hopefully, you find the tips helpful and feel much better soon

I unfortunately get bladder infections very often. On the advice of my GP, I started taking cranberry tablets, which seemed to work for a while, but unfortunately, they're not holding up anymore. By the way, you're not supposed to take cranberry tablets when you're pregnant.
I'm now taking vitamin C effervescent tablets.
Drinking lots of water, orange juice, yogurt. Things like that
Hope you get rid of it soon!

Hey, it's so nice that you all responded! I really appreciate it!
It's also nice that someone knows that flutter-in-the-belly feeling; I was already getting happy at the thought of possibly being pregnant (ovulation is this week).

I usually always pee right after sex, drink lots of water and tea, and take lots of vitamins, but still got a bladder infection, probably because of the pretty bad flu I have now.

I'll try out your tips right away!

    Thanks so much!!

Hi dear Dior! Cranberry juice helps too, I've heard. Luckily, I only had it once a few years back. Peeing right after sex is tough when you're trying to get pregnant, don't you stay lying down for a few minutes? I think you just had bad luck with your reduced immunity! Thank your man, hihi!

Got the results now and I don’t have a bladder infection/urinary tract infection, no bacteria or anything like that found. I did get antibiotics though that I have to try...
    So bizarre and weird this!

I also don’t have that burning feeling anymore, I just feel something (but no pain) when I pee.
Only that terribly irritating butterfly-in-the-belly feeling just won’t go away grrrr.

Thanks Merel! I’m heading straight to the store for cranberry juice! I’d like to try that. I hear a lot of good stories about it!
And no, I usually don’t lie down because I’m quite panicked about that and always want to pee and shower right away haha! I do believe that the quick harrys have already swum far enough since the next day I still leaked despite peeing (what a detail again haha)
And in the past few days we actually didn’t do anything because I had such a bad flu ghehe...
And why should I thank my man haha?

I’ve read that a lot too, Hato!
    I don’t have a very regular cycle. So far it’s been: 26-24-mk-25-28-27...
So I’d say my outer limit is tomorrow.

This cycle is going weird anyway because I didn’t notice ovulation this time. I ALWAYS get very sore nipples right after ovulation, but I still don’t have them; my breasts have just grown significantly and become firmer. Also, I normally get lots of thick, creamy white discharge after ovulation (I think that’s normal too), but the thing is, I had discharge the week after my period that definitely seemed to indicate ovulation, but since then until now I’ve had absolutely no discharge.

I’ve been using the very early detection 2be-sure and Sensitest strips and testing multiple times a day at different times, but they all stay completely white!
Curious to see what happens tomorrow...

A bit late, but I’ve already had a fairly normal cycle (a bit longer) and a normal period by now.

I’m glad I never took the antibiotics and just stuck with cranberry juice.
Unfortunately, those were again the signs of a miscarriage that set in a few days later... So I was pregnant after all...

I just needed a little space for this, which is why I’m only posting this update now.

Thank you, Hato! That's so sweet of you!
We're not giving up and we're keeping our hopes up!

And I saw that you're pregnant? Of course, HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!!!
How are you doing with that?

    xxHug back!

Yesss dior I'm currently 9+4 weeks pregnant in the month I didn't expect it, so I got pregnant thank you so much, girl, and I hope you'll be pregnant soon too

Pregnancy is going well at the moment, sometimes round ligament pain and nausea but nothing too bad that I'd want to skip it had my first ultrasound on November 12th with a beating heart and in 2 weeks I'll have the 12-week scan. So I hope I'll hear a beautiful beating heart again I still have a 4-year-old son and we plan to tell him during the 12-week scan that he's going to be a big brother but first we need to hear and see that the heartbeat is strong and everything is okay

Oh, how exciting! Hato is lovely!!
I’m cheering for you both! I’m sure everything will turn out fine!
It’s also nice that you don’t have many complaints yet! (Although they can sometimes be unpleasant too)

Who knows, maybe we can chat soon about pregnancy ailments hahaha.

Let me know how the 12-week ultrasound went!
