when to test?

Hi ladies, I'll explain my question briefly. I was expecting my period on Saturday, but so far nothing has come. My husband used protection, just once, and it wasn't used, but there was no risk since I was already quite far into my cycle. The only thing is that my period hasn't started yet, so I'm wondering: should I take a test, or is the chance very small that it's necessary? We already have 3 kids, aged 10, 9, and 1. I'm asking here because I'd rather not bother my family or friends with this question; it's quite private.

You could test now; you'd be 3 days late. If you're pregnant, you should already see a clear line.
Then you'd have clarity instead of unnecessary stress/uncertainty now.
    Good luck!

Hi Beagle, thank you for your reply
I'll just go ahead and test then, I'm indeed not going to stress unnecessarily anymore.
It just felt weird to me to test because it only happened once that he didn't use anything,
but you're right, this stress isn't necessary if I were to test.

It’s indeed a bit of a double-edged sword, and the chance is very slim. But it’s better to have clarity with a negative test than to be left in uncertainty
There could be many other reasons for being overdue, like stress, late ovulation, etc. But you can easily rule out pregnancy with a test.

    Exciting!
