Hi everyone. We're trying to conceive. I stopped the pill in June and had two very normal cycles after that. Now, during the 3rd cycle, I've had very heavy periods for 4.5 weeks already, with just 1 day in between, and then we have sex, but it hurts. The next day I get a lot of painful bleeding again. It's been going on like this for 4.5 weeks. The midwife told me to just wait, but I find it frustrating. I'm taking iron pills to keep my blood levels up. Does anyone have experience with this? How long should you wait before going to the gynecologist, or should you just wait and be patient?

    Hi Katrien,
    I understand it's annoying, but it's all normal. Can you remember how your period was before you started the pill? My gynecologist explained that it can take a little while for your cycle to become normal after stopping the pill, so there's no need to worry. If it's really bad, you can always take a paracetamol or call her again.
