Holly, Hazel or Grace

We live abroad, hence the English name. Our daughter will be Jill's (Jill Fee Elizabeth) little sister. Which name do you think is the most beautiful/nicest? Other options are welcome too. We like names with one or two syllables, easy to pronounce, and thus in English. Thanks a lot!

Hazel! Really beautiful, it's one of my favorite English girl names.

I think Holly (=holly bush) is the nicest.

Ooooh, I'm still so torn. Grace has already been ruled out, but we still can't decide between Holly and Hazel...

    Hi,

I'm torn between Philou and Hazel.
I wouldn't go with Philou if it really needs to be international... it sounds a bit odd in French...

I think Hazel is prettier than Holly. Holly pronounced in a Dutch way sounds a bit clunky to me, and you can't really avoid that if you're Dutch or have Dutch family.

Good luck with choosing, it's really tough!

And Hazel wouldn't be pronounced weirdly? Hello Haaa-zel!

People who mispronounce Hazel or Holly clearly haven't discovered the world yet...
But when I hear the name Holly, I think of that redhead (now blonde) from Geordie Shore on MTV, and she was a bit of a diva... but hey, that's how you stay relevant. What I also hear a lot is that people wait until the birth to decide, and then go, "Okay... which name really fits her?" And then they often end up making a choice like that.

In the end, you shouldn't care about other people's opinions and should just follow your heart! I also have a boy's name that not everyone likes, and I don't care at all... we think it's fantastic, but even we had huge struggles making the decision because I was also quite concerned about what others thought.

Holly is easy to pronounce, Hazel less so.

I voted for Hazel, but I really like Holly too!

Personally, when I hear Holly, I think of a butt, sorry. And I think Hazel sounds much nicer when pronounced in English.

My preference goes to Hazel. I know that Holly isn't exceptional in English-speaking countries, but I still find it a bit of a weird name. :-)

Our daughter was born! Two weeks early, but completely healthy!
Her name is Hazel, full name Hazel Nikki Katherine.
We chose the name after her birth. Hazel has such big brown eyes that Hazel just fit best. We still stand by that decision. Thank you for all the help!

    Congratulations!

Aww, that's fantastic! That really suits her perfectly. Congratulations, and she has such a beautiful name

    Enjoy it!

What a beautiful name, and how great that you're still standing by it. Hazel with big brown eyes sounds like a treasure. Congratulations to little Hazel Nikki Katherine!
