Mia

Hi everyone,
My husband and I have decided: our daughter is going to be called Mia! We really want to name her after our mothers. The problem is that our mothers' first names start with an A and an I. So our little girl's initials would then be either M.I.A. or M.A.I. What do you think? Is it silly? Or can it work? And which of the two would you choose? Or does anyone have another idea?
Thanks in advance!

No, really. Not weird at all. If you feel good about it, you should definitely go for it! I’d go with M. I. A. … Good luck with deciding!

Nice, Mia! I'd go for the initials M.I.A. That's quite funny. I know someone else who has that too (Jet: J.et E.veline T.ina), and I think it's quite cool.

    Thank you for your responses!
    I'm glad you like it
Another option would be to give her 4 names, but her brother has 3 names and I don't really like that either.

I also think MAI is nice as a letter code. I also know Mai as a first name, by the way.

Mia sounds a bit calmer and more timeless than the more playful variants. I can see why you're torn between three and four names, but sometimes less is more. If your son has three names, Mia can just as well work perfectly as a single name. It just has to feel right for you.
