Hi everyone,

I'm now 4 days overdue and my pregnancy tests are negative (I've tried 2). Has anyone else experienced this? I stopped taking the pill back in January 2018.

Best regards!!!

I haven't experienced it yet because I don't have a regular cycle. Do you have the same amount of days every month?

I had this last year. I suddenly had a cycle that was 40 days instead of 28 to 32. I went to the GP, and they said bluntly: if the test is negative, you're not pregnant. Just wait for your period.

If you feel comfortable, you can test every 2 or 3 days, but if there's really nothing to see, the chance of it changing is small.

Thanks for your replies. Nice that someone actually responded.
@lizzy: it was very irregular, but now for the last 2 months my cycle has been 31 days. And now they just keep staying away... A rumble in my tummy and a craving for sweets!!
@Nijn: I think doctors have it easy talking. On the internet you read that for some women it did turn out to be positive despite a negative test, because the body hadn't produced enough hcg yet.

Do you already have kids? Or how long have you been trying?

True, but I think doctors more often encounter situations where someone isn't pregnant than they do people who are pregnant but only test positive late. I get his reaction now, but at the time, I found it very blunt and didn't feel taken seriously.

I don't have kids yet unfortunately, and I'm now on cycle 19 or 20. I've ended up in the medical system early on.

I wouldn't really like this answer either! But as you say, if you think about it, maybe it's "normal" if they get a lot of women coming by who have this suspicion. Let's wait and see then, how long should I wait any more? Say, if I don't get my period or a positive pregnancy test next week? I certainly don't want to rush to the doctor too hastily...
Good luck! I hope medical science can make your wish come true, I'm rooting for you all the way!!

    Thank you.
I think I made an appointment 13 days after my missed period. You should just do what makes you feel good. I kept hoping I’d be a late tester, but they stayed white.

I'll test again on Monday or Tuesday, then I'll be more than a week overdue. If the result is still negative, I'll know it's just a matter of waiting... Did you have any symptoms then? Or just a missed period?
  8. Nijn #9

With my period, I always have a lot of symptoms that could be either way—sore and larger breasts, headaches, nausea, fatigue, back pain. So I don't know what I'll feel like when I'm pregnant.

It's so frustrating... I want to know, but I also don't, because I'm afraid of disappointment. I've never really had this feeling before; I always had hope, but now I actually "feel" pregnant! :-( And in the end, I think I'll just convince myself...
