Baby wish (just introducing myself)

Hi!
I'm new to this forum and wanted to introduce myself. I'm 25 years old, married, and really want to get pregnant with my first baby. I stopped the pill on August 5th. My husband and I have been talking about having kids for a long time and hope it happens soon. After stopping the pill, I had my last withdrawal bleed, and I'm wondering if I'll just get my period again in 2 weeks, or if my body needs to 'detox' from the pill first.
I couldn't resist buying ovulation tests; I really want to know if I've ovulated yet or not. I've seen a winking smiley for 4 days in a row (high fertility) but no steady smiley (that's the peak). But maybe I'm jumping the gun; I should probably wait for my period to start first...
Do you recognize the feeling that when you decide to try for a baby, you can't wait until it happens?
How long did it take for your cycle to return after using the pill?
And do you think drinking alcohol is an absolute no-go when you want to get pregnant, or do you think having one glass of wine now and then is okay?

Welcome! I'm also 25, married, and have been trying since last month
It's so relatable that you can't wait fast enough. I'm already using ovulation tests
I stopped the pill 1.5 years ago and got my cycle back immediately (28 days), so I didn't have to wait for it to clear my system.
Alcohol is probably fine for NOD, but I don't drink anyway, so that's not an issue here! I'm also trying to be mindful of my diet and avoid things that aren't recommended during pregnancy.
    Good luck!!

    Hi Snowflake,
Which ovulation test are you using? Have you had a positive test yet?
    Wishing you success too!

My cycle always gets going again right after stopping the pill. This is my fourth pregnancy... with one early miscarriage before this one. But I did have some post-pill issues. In between, some bleeding and nausea, etc.
With my son, who is 15 now, I got pregnant in round 3... with my daughter, who is 12, I think it was round 4. With my current boyfriend, I got pregnant in round 3, which ended in a miscarriage, and then immediately got pregnant again. I'm 39, so I found that pretty fast. I'm now 35 weeks pregnant.
By the way, you can actually consume alcohol while trying to get pregnant. It really can't do any harm.

Oh... and good luck, of course!

    Hi Moon,
It's so nice that you're chatting with us on Brabbels and super exciting for your first month
We're 23 and 28, and since October 2016 we've stopped taking the pill Of course we also hoped for a quick pregnancy, but it didn't happen and we're still not pregnant.
We got married on August 10th It was a super beautiful day, but we had actually hoped for a wedding baby, but unfortunately that didn't work out.
At the end of this month I'm allowed to start hormone injections for our first ICSI treatment, which we'll have in September Super exciting!
By the way, my period came back quickly after stopping the pill and was very regular. Hopefully it'll be the same for you
    Hope you'll be pregnant soon

Oh, I hope with you all that the first ICSI treatment is successful right away!

Thank you so much, Moon. That's really sweet of you

I used those from Action, but they didn’t turn positive for me... I was sure I’d had my ovulation based on my temperature. Next month I’ll try different tests
    Girl 22, super good luck!

    Hi Moon,

Here’s someone who’s 28 and getting married soon (in October) . My partner and I decided to stop the pill in June, so hopefully we’ll conceive quickly after the wedding. They say it usually takes a little while for most women to ovulate regularly again.

Still, I’m starting to get a bit anxious. I tend to dwell on these kinds of things very quickly!

Exactly 4 weeks after stopping the pill (including the first week of withdrawal bleeding), I got my period again. I was hoping for an immediate regular cycle, but now I’m two days late and have been noticing old blood when wiping for the past few days. So it looks like I’m not quite ovulating regularly yet, unfortunately. I took a test this morning just to be sure, and it was negative.

As for alcohol: if I’m on my period, I’ll have a glass. But usually it’s just one, max two per week. And only during the week I’m menstruating. That week I’m definitely sure nothing is happening (no sex anyway ). I don’t dare drink during the other weeks, even if it’s just for my own peace of mind.

    @Snowflake thanks!
@Dierends super exciting & congratulations in advance on your wedding we got married on 10-8-18 and stopped the pill on 1-10-16.
I also stopped drinking then, even went a bit overboard, e.g. at Christmas I didn't even have a candy with alcohol filling and felt guilty eating carpaccio.
But the blood connection with the baby is only established after 5 weeks of pregnancy, so in principle a few glasses of alcohol can't do any harm ;-)
When we found out in January that I could never get pregnant naturally, I did have some alcoholic drinks again (radler, liefmans) but at most 2 per week.
We are now on our 22-day honeymoon and now I still have an alcoholic cocktail now and then but can't get pregnant yet, when I start with injections on Aug 31 I can't drink alcohol anymore (doesn't go together with that medication) so I'll stop again (a few days before) and when I get pregnant I won't touch a drop anymore (had already stopped for over a year so it's no problem, and alcohol-free cocktails are also super tasty and radler 0.0

You're right! I get it, I'd do the same. And one or two glasses have never hurt anyone. Enjoy your honeymoon!
Keep us updated after the 31st?

@Dierends, that’s exactly how I feel too And yes, if I know more, I’ll definitely let you know We’re still here in sunny Lara until September 2nd

Super fun! Good luck to all the future moms!

I'm 23 years old. I had stopped the pill for 6-7 months.. really focused on it.. and it worked a bit against me, I think. In December 2017, I had a very early miscarriage and on January 10th, I tested positive. After the miscarriage, I moved and didn't focus on it at all, and then got pregnant again.

Now 36 weeks pregnant with a girl!

Hi ladies, so nice to chat I’d also like to join in I’m 27 and stopped the pill on June 22, 2018. I already have a 4-year-old son and I’m trying for a second My first two weeks off the pill were tough, mainly due to severe headaches and nausea (coming off the pill). But I already had a short cycle of 30 days. My second round was 29 days. I’m now in my period week. And once I’m done, the third round will begin. Congratulations to those who are pregnant! And hoping that we’ll also get a positive test soon

    Hi ladies!
I've been new on this forum for a little while now. I also happily chat along in the "NOD September" thread. I'm 20 years old and got married 1.5 years ago. My husband and I really want a little miracle, so we're in our first round. I have a fairly regular cycle of 28 days, right after 1.5 years of pill use. Luckily, I didn't have any issues after stopping the pill. Maybe that's because I only used the pill for 1.5 years.
I've also decided to hold off on using ovulation tests for now (first few rounds) and just go with the flow when we feel like it because it should remain fun, hehe. I'm still only 20, so waiting an extra year wouldn't be a big deal for me. Although I'd of course be super happy if it worked out within a few rounds.
As for alcohol: I've never drunk any, so I can't tell you anything about that, hahaha.
I'm currently on day 7 (it just became 00:00) of my cycle. Good luck, ladies!
    Greetings,
    Ess

    Hi everyone,

I'm 24 and stopped the pill on June 3rd after using it for 8 years.
I had my withdrawal bleed on June 5th and got my first period on July 13th, but now I only got my period again on August 21st, which is a cycle of more than a month. Could this be because everything isn't regular yet? I did take an ovulation test on July 31st, August 2nd and 3rd, and they were all positive.
I want it so much, and I'm so focused on it.

    Love,
