pregnant?

Good afternoon!
I have a question.. maybe it's a silly one, but I'm fairly new to trying to get pregnant.
Yesterday was the day I was supposed to get my period. I stopped the contraceptive pill almost a year and a half ago, and got my period fairly continuously for the next 3 months. Sometimes my period started 1 or 2 days early, but usually it came first thing in the morning on the expected day. I've never been late before. Now it's day 2, and this morning I took a pregnancy test with my first morning urine. Unfortunately, it was negative. (Pregnancy test from the Action, ovulation was around August 7th)
When can I take another pregnancy test? Is there still a chance I could be pregnant? Are there any women with similar stories?
Thanks in advance!
Best, Lisa

P.S. I also haven't had any period symptoms yet. Normally, I get a bunch of pimples and stomach cramps 1 to 2 days before.

The chance that you're pregnant exists as long as you haven't gotten your period.
I'd test again the day after tomorrow if your period still hasn't arrived.
    I'll be rooting for you!
