Implantation pain

Hi ladies,
I was wondering if any of you experienced implantation pain or had symptoms during implantation itself?
Just curious if you could feel anything and what exactly it was...

Hey babble, with my son, I had severe lower back pain about a week before my due date. It lasted a few days, and I remember that the pain on the first day was so intense that I felt really awful and even had to throw up. Looking back, that was the implantation period. I never thought you could have pain from implantation...

    Hey
Since today I've been extremely tired and I really have sharp pains, exactly like pushing, all the way down...
I'm wondering what it could be, since I shouldn't have my period yet...
  3. Hato #4

Yes exactly, I had the same kind of pain. I also went to the GP and told her I had stopped the pill. I described the pain as a triangle in my lower back. Each point of the triangle hurt. The GP did a pregnancy test but it came back negative (which makes sense because it was too early). She thought it might be kidney stones and referred me to the hospital for an X-ray. I ended up having that done even though I was actually pregnant at that time!! Now I hope this pain for you also means you're pregnant. But in my case, I was pregnant and despite the X-ray, I had a healthy baby

Yuzarsiff, did you find out you were pregnant at the hospital or later?
It's really painful now; I never had any issues with my period, for example.
    Cheers

No, actually not, which was pretty stupid of me (but I wasn't really focused on it then like I am now for the second one). Before the X-ray was done, they asked me, 'Ma'am, are you pregnant?' I answered, 'Not that I know of.' I should have said that we were trying. Then they could have done a blood test just to be sure. So the X-ray was done, and in the end, no kidney stones. About a week and a half later, my mom asked when I was supposed to get my period because she knew we were trying. And at her urging, I took a test. Big positive! I immediately called my gynecologist and mentioned that I'd had an X-ray done. She said that if something went wrong, there was nothing I could do and I just had to wait and see. First ultrasound, heard a beautiful beating heart, and everything was fine. Yeah, indeed, that pain was so severe that I really felt awful and had to throw up. Now, hope that it goes positive for you too, just like it did for me

Oh, that was definitely a bit of a shock for you! Glad it ended well!
Well, the pain isn't really fun, but I think it might have been a bit too early on the other hand...
Eventually, you'd just not know anymore. Because we didn't really try that hard either... I think someone here would be startled.

    Yeah, indeed, quite startled
Oh ok, yeah I understand it's not fun. But if you were really pregnant, would that be desired? What I've learned from Brabbels is that your body can really play tricks on you, so you never know for sure. The only way to rule it out is to take a pregnancy test on or around the day you should actually get your period. When is your expected period?

For me, it would really be welcome! We've been together for 6 years already... normally due in 12 weeks. But I just feel like something is different

From experience, I know that gut feeling is usually right. More than a year ago, when I was still on the pill and not trying to conceive, I had symptoms. My gut told me I was pregnant, but this wasn't confirmed by a gynecologist via an internal ultrasound (my GP referred me because my symptoms were unbearable), nor by a test because it was too early to test and it came back negative. On the day I was supposed to get my withdrawal bleed, I lost my little one (could see it with the naked eye in the toilet bowl – sorry for the detail). After the loss, I got severe cramps and heavy bleeding. Back to the GP and had blood drawn = my feeling was confirmed, I was indeed pregnant and it ended in a miscarriage at 5 weeks.

Haha, real life stories I'm sharing here, hope they weren't too long for you, but I've definitely experienced things like this. I'd say trust your gut and if you can't wait to take a pregnancy test (since it needs a certain level of hCG hormone in urine to test positive), you can get a blood test. That's 100% reliable and can detect even very early pregnancies.

It's definitely not a big deal to hear your stories! From when on can you do a blood test then?
  11. Hato #12

Actually, from the moment your pregnancy hormones start being produced. Some say that happens after implantation of the egg, and others say right at fertilization. So when the hormone is present in the blood, it can be detected. And you said you still have 12 days until your expected period. If the pain is really implantation pain, you could already know within a few days via a blood test whether you're pregnant. It also makes a difference whether you live in Belgium or the Netherlands. I read somewhere that GPs in the Netherlands don't just do an HCG blood test. In Belgium, that's possible though.

Hey just wanted to let you know that I've been having severe heartburn since yesterday... hopefully this is related too
  13. Hato #14

Hey, fingers crossed hopefully it has something to do with that. Let me know if you find out more

    Hi, of course I will!
    I'm really curious!

I was suffering from intense period cramps, so I really had the feeling that I was about to get my period badly.
That’s why I was so surprised when I was overdue with a positive test in my hands.
I still couldn’t believe it until I had my first ultrasound, then I really saw a little baby in my belly, and only then did it really sink in.
My midwife said those intense cramps were from implantation.
Let’s hope we’ll see a positive test with you too in a few days!

    Hi mamavanwondertje
I'm really curious, within a few days is normally my due date... I've been feeling really bad/weird for a whole week and then took a test but it was negative, and since today I'm feeling a bit better... but I do think my breasts are starting to look weird/sensitive nipples...
  17. mamavanwondertje #18

Yeah, it's also normal to get a negative test this early
My nipples have been really itchy since last week and it hasn't stopped yet, my breasts have already grown 3 cup sizes but I was only a B cup.
I hope it's positive for you and I'll be rooting for you!
