Have you ever had the experience or thought of wanting to carry for someone else?

Hi Frits,

I don't really know much about this, but personally I don't think I could carry a baby for someone else. It's something that grows inside you, after all. But I did see a post on this forum once from a woman who misses being pregnant but doesn't want any more children of her own and is willing to be a surrogate for someone else, or adopt the baby from a woman who is pregnant. Maybe that's something you're looking for?

Wishing you lots of success in making your dream come true

    Hi Frits,

It's great that you want to make your dream come true. I'm happily married myself, and we're about to welcome our first baby (scheduled c-section). So I wouldn't be open to it myself, but maybe if the circumstances were different, and I think there are other women who feel the same way. The most beautiful thing is seeing two happy people raising a child together. In pregnancy magazines, you sometimes read stories about two men or two women who want to have a baby together. They often indeed use a surrogate from another country. I believe there are several forums in the Netherlands where women offer themselves as surrogates. There's also a forum on Brabbels; maybe you could check that out. Whether it's really serious, and whether you'd want to pursue it this way, I leave entirely up to you. Anyway, it's very brave of you to be so open, and I wish you and your partner lots of success and luck in making the right choice for you, and hope you'll soon have your own little family.

    Hi Frits,
I’ve been quite busy trying to have kids with a same-sex couple. But I find surrogacy difficult when it involves my own egg. I’d really like to help a friend of mine have a baby. But I can’t use my own egg (yet) because I still want kids of my own. If I used my egg, it would still be my child, and I’m not ready to give that up completely.

    Hi Sannie.

Thanks for your reply. Yeah, it's hard to describe how strong the desire is in a forum.
Another fact is that we're still looking into options, and we know we'll have to save for another 3 years before we're financially ready. It costs a lot because the IVF process will have to take place abroad.
