tangled up with family.

Hi ladies,
I'm a bit tangled up right now and hope you can help me out a bit.
We're expecting our first baby in January :-D My parents have been separated for almost a year now (it all went pretty badly), and I haven't heard anything from my dad's side of the family yet (2 sisters). Not even for my birthday or a quick call or anything about how the pregnancy is going... (which they do know from my dad and grandma). Now I'm wondering what to do. Would you still send a birth card in my situation, or would you just let it go?
I hope you can put yourselves in my shoes and share your thoughts. Thanks in advance!
Love, Wendy

    Hi Wendy,

First off... congratulations on your pregnancy! Oh, that sucks that you're in this situation and haven't heard anything from that part of your family yet. It's a bit hard to judge from a distance, but I can imagine it's a bit of a "tough" situation for them too. Maybe they find it hard too to call you for your birthday or whatever. I get that you don't quite know what to do with the situation right now.

What I would do is send a card to everyone I want to let know that our little one is born. So yes, my family is included. That way you can also let them know that you'd like to keep in touch. I get the feeling from between the lines that you'd like to keep in touch.

Wishing you a nice pregnancy and good luck with making your decision.

    Best,
    Anne

Oh wow, that sounds really tough for you It's awful to have to worry about such things when this should be such a carefree time for you. I can totally understand your doubts; I'd probably think, "just let it go," but I'd still probably send a card so you can't be blamed for not doing anything...
Wishing you all the best with the situation.

Thanks for your quick reply And of course, heartfelt congratulations to you too on your pregnancy, hehe!!!

I do have a bit of a feeling like I'll just send it off anyway, so at least it's not my fault, and let them see what they do with it.
    Thank you so much!
    Love, Wendy

Thank you so much, hihi. I think you've made a good decision with this. It certainly won't be due to you.

    You're welcome!!!

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I’d keep it classy and send a card. You’ll see what they do with it, but at least you’ll have done the right thing.
