Hi there. Sounds like you're going through a tough pregnancy, both mentally and physically. Being pregnant can really be a struggle, especially with the scare of a possible preterm birth. I think they don't want to check you because they're afraid of kicking things into gear. Girl, being pregnant was really rough for me too. My daughter is now six months old, and phew, I never want to think about that again. Mine stayed until almost 41 weeks, and I hope yours stays longer too, despite everything. 29 weeks is very early; there can be complications and long-term effects or delays. So I understand your thoughts and feelings about being completely done with it, but it's definitely better for your daughter if she stays a bit longer. If you have a lot of painful contractions, do call them, girl. You'll see how they respond anyway, right? Strength, and I hope for you to have a beautiful baby girl at 37 weeks. Greetings.

Just call again. They'd rather you come for nothing than have your labor actually start at home this late in the game.
They really don't mind if you call.

Hi girl. I’ve also just finished a rough pregnancy. I was terribly sick in the first few weeks, and the fatigue, pregnancy, and the after-effects of “Pfeiffer’s disease” left me completely drained after just 2 hours of doing anything. Also, due to bleeding, I was hospitalized at 23 weeks, and at 32 weeks I thought I was losing amniotic fluid in little drops. I’d also been having hard contractions for days, and “false labor” at night. In the hospital, I had all sorts of checks on the duckbill speculum, then had to cough hard with a swab inserted into my vagina so they could check if I was indeed losing amniotic fluid. I had really nice nurses during both checks, but there were also less good ones who were very blunt and made me feel very unsure about the situation, among other things by not explaining things properly, not explaining the results, or the possible cause of all the symptoms.

But what I want to tell you is, ALWAYS call if you don’t feel right. You’re the mother and your baby comes first. You already mentioned that a shortened cervix was found, and that’s not for nothing. There is a risk of preterm birth. I also advise you to take it easy and still enjoy your pregnancy. It’s really better for the little girl to stay in until 37 weeks at the latest. 29 weeks is just too early, and you really don’t want to know about the complications of such a premature birth. Lots of luck, and love!
