Hi ladies,

My last period started on June 6th. I tested with urine tests on and after my expected period date, all negative. On June 8th (4 days after my expected period), I had a blood test at the doctor's. Negative result. She referred me to a gynecologist because she found it very strange that I hadn't gotten my period. We've been trying for a year and had a miscarriage in February, after about 4 weeks I think.

My period still didn't come. Through my app, I found out that I should normally ovulate today, July 19th. On Tuesday, July 17th, I did an ovulation test with a Clearblue test I had lying around. A smiley this, which I found very strange after not having a period, yet still ovulating. Immediately after, I did a pregnancy test. This was at 6:45 PM, after drinking a lot of water, and it was positive after 3 seconds, just as dark as the test line. The next day, July 18th, I did another Clearblue test, which gave + 2-3.

Now I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I'm super nervous because we're going to the gynecologist tonight. Can she already see something if it's really positive?

Who has had a similar situation and did it work out? I'm so afraid that this possible pregnancy won't take hold again.

Because it was a bit unexpected, I did smoke in the period before, but I've stopped since I know. But in the first weeks, I did smoke, and there was one day, two weeks ago, when I had gin tonics while eating out... I feel so guilty about that now.

I really want this so much. I know I have to wait tonight, but how big are my chances that this will go well??

    I don't quite understand your story... You write that June 6th was the first day of your last period. And on June 8th you were 4 days after your ovulation? But I assume you were still bleeding then?
    Anyway, I really hope you're super pregnant. The tests are positive, so you can assume you have hCG in your body. But no one can tell you here whether everything is okay or will be okay. You'll unfortunately have to wait and see. Good luck!

    Clautjuh, sorry, I meant July 8th.. yeah, indeed. I was hoping for people with similar stories.. that it happens more often that you first test negative and later end up positive. In about half an hour I'm going to the gynecologist, so I'm so curious if she can already see something.

    Ah okay, then I get it. I have no experience with testing positive late. But who knows, they might see something. It probably won't be much yet if you're so early in your pregnancy. But maybe something. Good luck later!

    Yes, her answer was that she doesn’t see a clear pregnancy. It’s possible that ovulation happened later than the ovulation app predicted. They took blood and she had an HCG of 226, which is quite high. Still very nervous though, because twice before this happened, the levels dropped again at the next blood test.
    Now she has to go back on Monday or Tuesday for another blood test to see if there’s an increase. In two weeks, she’ll have an ultrasound. So nervous.
    Do you already have kids, or are you pregnant too?

    I’m guessing it’s a later ovulation too. But it’s exciting these next days! If your hCG has risen well, it should be okay, I think.
    We’re expecting our fourth. I have a son who’s 15 and a daughter who’s 12. My partner has an 8-year-old daughter. So it gets a bit hectic from time to time.

    Do you know more yet? Because an HCG level higher than 5 is basically pregnant, right?

    Yes, happy girl, but I've experienced before that it was so low and then dropped even more on the next test.
    Now, since yesterday, I've had such pink wipes when I need to pee. Yesterday it stopped around 4 PM, but when I just went to the toilet, it was back again. I'm so scared to hear the results at 1 PM, so I'm trying to be patient for now. I'm so afraid that it has dropped again and that I'll have been hoping for nothing.

    I got good news. I tested on Thursday at 9 PM and it was 226, then retested on Monday at 9 AM, so 3 days in between, and it rose to 370... total is now 596 HCG.
    The appointment for tomorrow was canceled; that was the appointment in case it would be a miscarriage.
    And now I'm allowed to come back on Wednesday 1/8 for an ultrasound.
    Going to enjoy this early happiness now.
