Name for a baby who passed away.

Good evening everyone,

Two weeks ago we found out that our little baby has a serious condition; she will pass away within 5 months.

We’ve chosen to keep our girl and keep her with us for as long as possible. I really want a name that (I don’t know how to explain it) subtly hints that the child will pass away. (Not literally, but I don’t know how to put it—I hope you understand.) The only thing I can think of right now is something like Angel (meaning: angel) or Sterre (I don’t find that name beautiful, but it’s mainly about the meaning).

I hope you can help us. It’s for a girl.

Thanks in advance

    That's so heavy to hear
    First of all, I want to wish you both lots of strength and try to enjoy her as long as possible. Try to build lots of memories, for example in the form of photos.

    And as for the name, I think Angel is very beautiful. Other names that come to mind are: Sky, Rosangel, Angelina... I find it hard to say.

    First off; what a heavy thing to say! A terrible message to receive. I hope you can still enjoy your little girl for a very long time. Strength

    Then about the name, I understand what you mean. It's indeed difficult to come up with one. I'll try a few;
    Valerie - meaning strong and brave
    Avalon/Minou - meaning bird, strong
    Iva - meaning miracle
    Aurora - meaning 'the break of day'
    Perhaps also (I think nature names fit well here): Butterfly Blossom Flower Bloom Daisy Myrtle Blackberry Spring Dille Fleur Flora
    And maybe Sky/Skylar/Skyler

    Once again, strength and enjoy each other

    Oh gosh, that's so sad. I wish you both lots of love and strength in the coming time!

    It's hard to come up with such a name, but I think it's a really beautiful idea. Maybe Stella, Seren or Estelle instead of Sterre? They both also mean 'star'. Or Luna or Selena ('moon' or maybe Mare or Mara ('sea'.

    Or a name like Joy, Grace, Hope or Faith?

    Freia/Freya/Freja also has a beautiful meaning and might be fitting in your case. It means 'lady/goddess of love, beauty and death'. But I can also imagine that you find that too direct/literal.

    Some other names with beautiful meanings: Celeste (heavenly), Belle (beautiful), Lieve (beloved)

    Yes, it's really nice to do. I named my baby Jacy because of the meaning (the healer). I'll think again about a nice name. Wishing you lots of strength with everything.

    As a first, I want to wish you strength for the coming time. There are no words for what you're going through right now. Choosing a name in this situation, and with the meaning you're looking for, isn't easy, but it is important. I did a little search online and here's what I found. Maybe there's something in there that you also find beautiful, or it might guide you in the right direction for your search.
    Amarens -> immortal love (Frisian)
    Kalina -> to love (Aboriginal)
    Jedidja -> beloved of the Lord (Biblical)
    Nayley -> I love you (Zapotec)
    Aiko -> born of love (Japanese)
    Ava -> desired (Germanic)
    Liora -> my light (Hebrew)
    Ziva -> light of God (Hebrew)
