Hi there!

We're currently busy looking for a name for our second daughter. It's quite a challenge for us since my husband and I don't quite see eye to eye Our first daughter is Jinthe, and right now we're both open to the name Yune.

However, I think a lot of people might see this name as a boy's name? What do you all think?

We also like Maro, but it seems more like a boy's name to me too?

Would love to hear your thoughts!

I really like both of them!!
Do you pronounce it as Maaro, or Maroo?

I think Yune is really more for a girl, Maro feels more unisex. I do like Yune too, it looks even nicer written as June. But then people might pronounce it wrong. Tricky, tricky.

Yune I really think is for a girl, but Yume is a boy's name. What do you think of the spelling June (then people will probably pronounce it as 'djoen'...) or Juune, then it might look a bit more clearly like a girl's name?
By the way, I also think that Yune looks a lot like Jinthe. Doesn't have to be a big deal, but I just wanted to mention it.

And with Maro, I initially think of a boy, but I think it's nice for a girl too!! Maybe Manu is something for you?

    Thanks for your replies!

Maro would be pronounced as maaro, but my husband isn't really on board with it.

We also think that if it's spelled as June, people are more likely to pronounce it in the English way, so 'djoen', which is why we think the 'y' might make it clearer. And indeed, as Rose says, it looks a lot like Jinthe. I find that a bit of a 'downside'.. but we do like the name, so yeah, dilemmas
My husband came up with this morning: 'I also like Lune..' so I think we're still a bit busy with it
Are there any other expectant parents for whom the name choice is a big dilemma?
Her seems blissful to me if you immediately know: 'that's it, this name is it' (and then agree with your partner )

I think Yune is a really nice name! But if you both like it, I'd just go for it. I do think it's really a girl's name though. Or maybe Yuna/Juna could be an option?
By the way, I also think Jinthe is a super cute name!

When I hear Maro, I actually think more of a boy.

And I also think Lune is quite nice!
Other suggestions: Jade, Lyna, Nica, Fenne, Senna, Jula

I like Yune! But I think Lune might fit even better, indeed... Tough!
By the way, I totally understand your eternal doubt. My partner and I knew the girl's name right away for our first one, it just wasn't a girl hahaha. In the end, we found the name at 37 weeks, even though it's a fairly common name. So our son is now Melle. Then our second was born, a girl, so we were quick with that one (Liselot). Now pregnant with the third, a boy, and so the whole circus of doubt starts all over again. Oh well, at least we have something to do

Yune I think is really a beautiful girl's name, wouldn't that be quickly chosen for a boy.

Maro is exactly the other way around. I think is really a boy's name.

That's lovely, Yune or Lune, and not at all boyish. I think Maro is more for a boy, what do you think of Mare?
