Experiences with false positive tests?

Hey,
My boyfriend and I have been trying to get pregnant for a few months. This month I was late, and the test was positive. Now we did use a very cheap test (Kruidvat 2 for 5 euros), and I started reading online and found out that those often give false positives. I would like to do a second test, but both my boyfriend and parents are not home this week, and I don't want to bear the disappointment alone if a second test is negative. I'm now 10 days late and have no symptoms at all, except that I keep waking up (for more than 2 weeks now) with severe breast pain. 14 days ago I did have some bleeding, but it only lasted 30 minutes. Do you have any advice for me?
Thanks in advance!

False positives don’t exist. Early miscarriages do. The 2-for-5 tests are fine. Just test again, there’s a good chance you’re pregnant. After already having a positive test and 10 days of waiting...

    Overdue.
    Positive test.
    Sore breasts.

The chance is veeeeery big that you're pregnant! So, congratulations in advance.

My advice is, do take a pregnancy test anyway (maybe you can surprise your boyfriend when he's back) and if you really want to wait until your boyfriend is back, then wait until he's back, but I would start taking folic acid already (if you're not already doing so) and pay attention to what you eat and drink. This is smart to do anyway before you get pregnant, but still.

A false positive does exist, I know. I once had one positive test and the rest, which I tested at the same time and the following days with the same brand, were negative. But multiple positive tests, then you are really pregnant. I wouldn't be able to wait either, and if it's negative, at least you know where you stand. But you're the one who has to decide whether to test or not. I think your chances are quite high. Good luck!

I once had a false positive test: See above.
Later, it turned out I had PCOS and thus no ovulation anymore. 3 days after this test, an ultrasound was done, I was completely empty and my ovaries full of cysts. According to the hospital, false positives do exist.
