Breech position

Babydoll
Dear ladies!
I'm expecting my first baby and my due date is July 21, 2018. Last week I had a growth scan and the little one was still in breech position! Next week I have to go back to the midwife to see if Mr. Baby has turned yet. Any tips or info on this? I'm reading all sorts of things online and don't really know what to believe. And it's all so exciting and new. Are there any other ladies expecting their first? Fun experiences and tips are all welcome!

Love,

Babydoll????

    Hi,
Hopefully it still turns.. But if I can give you a tip; if it's still breech before the birth, I would opt for a C-section. It was the same for me.. I tried to have a natural birth, but my son was in the birth canal for too long. And as a result, he suffered brain damage. In the end, it ended up being a C-section..
Hopefully it turns for you too! Good luck!

Hi Dorien, I had the experience that it turned. Let's wait until Tuesday for the ultrasound. Thanks!

In some cases, they can try to turn your baby from the outside, as long as the baby hasn't descended too far. With a breech birth, you don't necessarily need a C-section; it can be safe, but there are indeed more risks. However, don't underestimate the risks of a C-section either—it's a major abdominal surgery with all the associated risks, like infections. Plus, you'll take longer to recover compared to a vaginal birth.

Yeah, well, if they suggest a C-section, you often have no choice... You can say, "No, I don't want that because there are risks involved," but if you go against medical advice and your child suffers because they really wanted to give birth naturally, you'd never forgive yourself. That's also a risk.

A birth always carries risks, whether you give birth at home or in the hospital, with a C-section or not. Just follow the doctor/midwife's advice; they've been doing this for years.

I'll just wait until Tuesday to see if it's already been done or not.
