Evangeline "Angie"

Do you think the name Angie works for a family that's part of the elite? (short for Evangeline).

Thanks in advance!

I don't find it elitist at all... But I also don't know if that was your intention?
I do think Evangeline is a super name! Maybe a different abbreviation? Eve, Eva, Evie, Line, Linn, Lina, Ellie, Ella, Anne, Vanna, Effie

What do you mean by "lives in the elite"? Isn't that a bit of an outdated term?

And how do you want to connect a name to the fact that you're elite? Should it be a posh name?

I don't really think Angie fits. Angelique, on the other hand, does. You could also shorten it to the names mentioned by Rose.

Other options: Lineke, Angela, Evany/Evanie, Evaly, Liene, Gina, Eline/Elina, Aline, Eveline/Evelien/Evalien/Eveline, Val

I don't mean that I'm elite myself, but my partner and I, along with our daughter, moved to another country a few years ago. It's a city where there's a lot of competition for wealth and power. For example, at school, if your parents aren't rich, you get less attention and it takes a lot of effort to fit in a little. If you have a name like Angel, Faith, Monica, or Kelly, people immediately think you're from those rough backgrounds.

We've noticed this with our eldest daughter; her name is April, and people already have prejudices against her. I don't necessarily want a "posh" name, but rather one that gives her a better chance of fitting in.

Oooooh, okay. Then I'd probably skip Angie after all. Angie seems like a short form of Angel, Angela, or Angelique to me, and I find those names a bit tacky/ordinary. Especially since Evangeline is such a chic, classy, and somewhat elitist name!
