Which car seat?

Hi mamas and mamas-to-be.
The title says it all: which car seat do you have? I've been browsing the internet for weeks, reading reviews, but making a choice isn't my strong suit haha. I'd love to know from the mamas who are willing to reply which car seat you have and why you chose it. And how old your child is now, regarding which setting you use. You would help me so much because I can't figure it out! My little boy is 9 months old now and can still stay in the Maxi-Cosi for a while longer, but it won't last many more months. Thanks in advance for taking the time!

Hey Anonymous, we have our oldest daughter (almost 3) in a Britax Römer seat. It's one of those group 1, 2, 3 convertible seats. We're very happy with it. She's been in it since she was about 11 months old. We chose a convertible seat because all those individual seats are super expensive and we didn't want to spend that much money every 3 years. And this brand was well-regarded at the time and did well in all the tests. I think we'll use this seat for the youngest in about half a year and buy a new one for her. But by then I'll need to look into it again, because the rules have probably already changed compared to two years ago.

Mine has been in a Cybex Serena since birth. If all goes well, she should be able to use it until almost 4 years old. The only downside is that it has to stay in the car. She's about 18 months now and still facing backwards. It depends a bit on how fast she's growing in length right now whether I'll keep it like this or flip it around because she's starting to run out of legroom.

I went for a fixed seat because I find the hassle of moving a Maxi-Cosi way too heavy, and I'd rather pay a bit more upfront for a seat she can use for 4 years than keep buying new seats every time she outgrows one.
