Do you think Raf is a nice boy's name or more like a dog's name?

I think Raf is a cool boy's name, it's been at the top of my list for a long time, derived from Rafael.
I find Rafael a bit too ordinary as a call name.
But doesn't Raf sound a bit too commanding?
Besides, my husband is named Rob. Can this combination work? I saw somewhere on a forum DeRob and DeRaf....

    I really like Raf! It sounds tough and nice and easygoing.
    I don't think it's a typical name for a dog. It can work, but that goes for more names too. Sam, Kaj, Luuk.

    I'd mainly think about the possibility of bullying. Raf is very sensitive to bullying behavior, as you already mentioned with deRob and deRaf.
    I'd go for Rafael instead.

    Sorry, but I don't like it at all. It reminds me of those terrorists from the Red Army Faction (RAF) who killed various people. I was in Germany in the 80s.
    Besides, it sounds quite abrupt, even though Rafaël is nice.
