Did your due date match the birth date?

Hi ladies, just a quick question
Which of you ladies still knew your ovulation date, meaning conception, and actually gave birth on the date you had in mind?

I'm wondering because some go overdue and some are born too early. As far as I understood, a baby is in the womb for 38 weeks (plus those extra 2 weeks making it 40 weeks), and with some first ultrasounds, it's not always that clear.

Hey, you can give birth anywhere between 37 weeks and 42 weeks. I gave birth at 41 weeks and 2 days. I would have actually been induced a day later.

I think you won't get very far with that here. Apparently only 4% of women deliver on their due date. I was 41+1 with my first and 34+4 with the twins. There's nothing you can do about it; you might get a recommendation to induce earlier, or you might just go into labor spontaneously earlier or later. I also heard about backdating, where you actually know when things will happen, so the date differs.

I gave birth exactly 3 weeks early at 36+6 weeks, started having contractions and gave birth a day later.

I have two girls who both came spontaneously at 40+2.

I was 1 day before the due date, 39-6.

I was induced at 40 weeks because my son had stopped growing.
