5 days overdue, pregnancy symptoms, tests negative

Hi hi,
I've been trying to get pregnant for a year now. Unfortunately, without success. From about six months ago until a few months back, I got increasingly frustrated by the uncertainty and because your body can play tricks on you like that. Lately, I've been letting it go a bit more and had decided to just wait until the one-year mark (which is now) and then go to the GP.
But... Coincidence or not? I'm now 5-7 days late. I'm torn between these two days because normally my period would be due on March 31st, but my ovulation was on the 14th, which would put my period on the 29th. I'll assume it's 5 days late for now.
There's absolutely no sign of a period. No bleeding at all. Not even heavy white discharge. Besides that, I do have stomach ache (gurgling and cramps), bloating, gurgly bowels, sensitive breast (actually just one), tiredness, mild headache, and occasional nausea. Also, some things suddenly smell bad to me. My urine has also started to smell different for the past day. This could be because my sense of smell is stronger, or it could be a pregnancy symptom. This could very well indicate pregnancy, but also an upcoming (very late) period.
I've been testing every day since Sunday, and they've been negative so far. Now I have to say that I've tested every time in the afternoon. And it's possible there isn't enough hCG in my urine yet. It could also be that I'm not pregnant.
So still very unsure. And somewhere inside, I want to make a promise to myself to only test again at the beginning of next week, but I know myself. I already know I won't stick to that haha.
I'm still trying to convince myself that my period is just very late, but it's getting harder day by day.
Have you guys experienced this too? And what was the result for you?
Best!

Sorry, no experience with being this overdue and having negative tests. If you're already past your due date, you'd really expect a positive test, honestly. Or maybe your ovulation was just very late and you had late implantation. Only then would there still be a chance for negative tests. Do you happen to know when your ovulation was? Were you feeling flu-like? That can delay ovulation. It's tough, of course.

@Clautjuh my ovulation was on the 14th. I wasn't really feeling flu-ish either. Actually, there was nothing different from the previous months. That's why I don't quite get it myself either. Although I've read a lot of stories about people who were advised by their GP to wait about two weeks after their missed period to test, so you're sure the hCG level is high enough. Many people test negative in the first few days and then positive on the fifth or even seventh day.

Who knows! I always tested really early, or right when my period was due. This is my fourth pregnancy, with one miscarriage before. But some women are different. These days, tests are so sensitive that a negative test a week after your missed period probably means you're not pregnant. But I could be wrong, of course!

Well, to make it even more confusing... I took a test this morning and it showed a heeeeeeeeeeeel faint line (which disappeared after 15 minutes). Now I have a tiny bit of brown discharge. I just looked it up and this can happen during pregnancy, but it could also be the start of my period. So I still don't know anything. I'll find out soon enough on my own, of course. If I suddenly get a full-on period this afternoon, I'll know.

I want clarity! And of course preferably in the form of a pregnancy, hahaha. But I'm starting to think I'm going to feel really awful this afternoon.

It could also be that there was an implantation, but something went wrong, which happens quite often. I guess you'll get your period any moment now, though I certainly hope not for you!

@Clautjuh I'm scared too. So far, it hasn't shown up, but I guess it's not accurate unfortunately. I'll see soon enough I think.

Yeah, unfortunately, there's not much more you can do than wait.

Unfortunately, as expected, my period came after all. I thought I'd feel really down about it because I really felt like I was pregnant. But luckily it's not that bad. Maybe because I know I can go to the GP now. I've been trying for a bit over a year now. I'll make an appointment in mid-April.

Ah, what a bummer. At least you have clarity now. It's really tough that you've been trying for a year already. Sometimes it can be something small that's preventing you from getting pregnant. Good luck with your GP!
