Thyroid - Thyroxine

Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum and would like to introduce myself briefly.
In September 2015, I became a proud mom of our first child.
This year, we'd like to try for a second little one.
However, my preconception check-up revealed that one of my thyroid glands (the part near the brain) is slightly off. They're not overly concerned but suggested I start taking Thyroxine medication.
Has anyone here had experience with this? My cycle is fairly regular at 31 days.
I'm unsure whether I should start with the medication.
