Stressed by work and pregnant again
Danielle02
I’ve got this weighing on my stomach and will try to keep it short.
I gave birth to our son last December after a 22-week pregnancy. Unfortunately, after tests, no cause was found for why I started having contractions so early and gave birth, but now I’m pregnant again, 6 weeks tomorrow. We’re very happy about it but also anxious, and getting pregnant again happened quickly.
Now I’ve been back at work full-time for 4 weeks and I’ve also taken on a new role that’s very busy and stressful, with a lot of responsibility. Since this week, I’ve been super emotional and everything feels like too much. I feel like I’m experiencing double the emotions and hormones, which makes me very insecure and I can’t see the wood for the trees.
Since I’m more anxious now than in my previous pregnancy, I wonder if I should face this and push through or set my boundaries without telling anyone I’m pregnant again. I’m afraid that all the stress will become too much for me and I’ll break down completely, which I don’t want. I want to do my best at work, I’m a perfectionist, and I don’t want to give up easily, but I also want to find a balance. On the other hand, I want to do what’s best for me and my unborn baby, which is definitely not having too much stress and taking it easy. (I’m an agency worker) for a year now, and I’m afraid of losing my job.
Does anyone have some experience with this or any tips?
