Am I pregnant?

Hi there,

I'm dealing with a small problem here. I had sex with my boyfriend on (16/03) edit: 16/02, and I'm wondering if I might be pregnant. I'm on the pill, but it's the 3-month pill, so I only get my period every 3 months. I bought a pregnancy test, but it says I should use it from 5 days before my expected period.

Here's the issue: since I'm on the 3-month pill, I don't know when I'd normally get my period. Has my cycle extended to 3 months, or is it still just one month? Is there a way to figure out when my period should normally come?

I haven't been feeling well since then. I have stomach pain, feel nauseous, etc. I really hope it's not that, because I'm only 16. Thanks in advance.

    Hey anonymous,

Don't panic. Do you always take your pill at the right times? And weren't you sick last month? Then there's probably nothing wrong.
I assume you meant 16/2 instead of 16/3? If that accidentally coincided with a possible ovulation, you should already be able to test positive on a pregnancy test now. Because hCG is produced from 10 days after your ovulation.
Just do a test, then you'll be sure.
    Good luck!

Yeah, I’ve always taken the pill at the right time, that’s true.
But I’ve been feeling pretty sick for the past month: stomach pain, fever, pain around my pelvis, etc.
But I’ll just take the test then, thanks for the info!

The effectiveness of the pill can be reduced by diarrhea or vomiting. But not by a regular fever or flu, normally.
    You'll be fine!

    Hi,
How can I calculate when I ovulated if I'm using a 3-month pill? If I don't know, I can't do the test properly.
    Thanks!

If you already have symptoms, a test would likely be positive. 16-2 sex, nothing else? Then ovulation must have happened around that time, at most 5 days later. Add 14 days, so roughly 20 days in total, and you should really get a positive test result by then. That's quite a generous timeframe.

Yeah, that's what I figured too.
