Symptoms but negative

Hi ladies,
I've been trying to get pregnant for a long time and now I'm experiencing symptoms for the first time that remind me of implantation bleeding. I just wanted to hear your stories/opinions. It's easier to throw it out there in the group online than to hit up everyone privately. If you're not into the physical details, please don't read.
My last period started on Jan 22 and I expected it this month on the 23rd (today!), which didn't happen..
Exactly a week ago I had some blood, darker and not like a period.. it subsided and was gone after 1 or 2 days. Since then only brown discharge and no further bleeding. Just very light cramps now and then. The bleeding happened about 9 days after ovulation and 7/8 days before my expected period. It all feels different from a period and I don't know if it's a placebo effect, but I feel pregnant. But I've already done 2 tests, including today, which were negative. I probably did the first one way too early.
What do you think? If I ever have irregular periods, I usually get a full period, not discharge or that it stops after 1 or 2 days. Waiting is the hardest part.. I'm resting a lot but of course thinking about this all the time. Miscarriages don't run in the family but I don't know if I'm jumping the gun.
Looking forward to your reactions. Love!

If you're a week overdue and still testing negative, maybe you could get a blood test.
Unfortunately, I know from experience that an implantation can happen on day 23 of your cycle, and no, that's not much later than usual because your uterine lining doesn't have much time to build up. It's easy to confuse with implantation bleeding.
So it could go either way..

Thank you so much for your response, Betty. I'll wait a bit longer then. I really hope it's a pregnancy!

All feedback and stories are welcome.

That blood from a week ago couldn't have been implantation bleeding because after implantation, you start producing HCG, and the test should have been clearly positive today.
Not that it means you're not pregnant, of course. Implantation could have happened a bit later, a few days after the bleeding. But then you'd have no explanation for the bleeding either, so overall, I think the chance that you're pregnant is quite small

    Hi ladies,
Nina is having a tough time with this situation where you have to wait... It feels so weird all of a sudden for me too.
It's been a while since I last posted.
Now I'm in a tricky situation. Last month my period started on January 19th and, like every other month, it ended nicely around the same date, so for example, January 19th was when my period started and then it ended on February 19th. So very straightforward. But this time, on the 20th, I only had brown discharge. Not a lot, but still enough to put in a panty liner. Yesterday and today, there was only a little brown discharge, mostly when wiping after using the toilet. On 22/2, I took a test and it was negative. I'm not sure if I'm pregnant or not. I only had one day with a bit of pink, a small drop of red, and then more brown discharge. Usually, my periods are heavy. Hopefully, someone can help me out or share their experiences???

I tested positive exactly one week after implantation.. maybe your hcg production is very slow?

BM, thanks for your reply. Yeah, that could also be the case. When should I best test? Did I maybe have a late ovulation if I had brown discharge on the day of my expected period? X

    Hi,
My reply was actually for the person in this topic (Nina).
When I read your story, I honestly wouldn't know. If you normally have a cycle of about a month, you should really be able to test positive by now. I think you could only be pregnant if you had a very late ovulation.

    I’d only test on Wednesday..

    BM,
Oh sorry, didn’t think of that. My apologies for that, hehe. And no, don’t think it’s only because of that... but I find it so weird that there’s only a little brown discharge and indeed, no positive test makes me unsure too. I also thought it should already be positive if it were like that :/

Thanks ladies, yes like Lien said I should have tested positive 1 week after implantation.. but I read so much that women sometimes produce hcg late or test positive very late. Some even only at 6 or 8 weeks.
I'm trying to stay hopeful. Tested negative again on Saturday. It's Monday now, cycle day 36. Still no period. I'll do another test in a few days and otherwise go to the GP.
Cramps are very very light and rare. I don't feel like I'm going to menstruate at all. It all feels different. But yeah it could go either way. Could it be that I'm just very late..
