Whether to start the pill or not

Hi everyone,

I gave birth to our daughter on 15-12-2017.
Around January (2019) next year, we'd like to try for a second child.
My question now is: would it be useful/smart to start the pill now, or should I wait until next year and try to do it safely in another way?
Thanks in advance!!

I'm curious too. We haven't figured it out yet either. Someone suggested I stay off the pill. Maybe an IUD?

We used condoms between the two pregnancies; I didn't want to go back on the pill anymore.

We also had condoms between the girls because we wanted them close together. 20 months apart, and then 24 months later.

After that, hubby can get himself trimmed.

Our oldest is turning seven in June. Since his pregnancy, I haven't been on the pill anymore. Just used condoms in the meantime. Don't want that stuff in my body anymore.
After two years, we started thinking about a second child, but it didn't happen that quickly. We had even taken the first step towards seeking help. In the end, it wasn't necessary after all; our daughter was born last February. Then I said, let's just get a tubal ligation.
Yeah, but... Maybe I still want one more...
Sure thing... Here I go again. But well, since I was already 34 and didn't want to give birth again in five years, we decided to just start trying. And bam, it happened the first time. Expecting our second daughter in two weeks.
And that's definitely the last one!

I also used a condom between the two pregnancies. The first time around, it was against all expectations that I got pregnant right away... My son and daughter will be 18 months apart.

I'm really struggling with this decision! My boyfriend wants me to just take the pill, but I want the kids to be close in age and I don't want to take the risk. Pff.. so hard, so hard, so hard

Haha yeah, easy enough, so he doesn't have to think about it. Yeah, and I know.. 'comfortable' is not quite right, but can he really decide for you? Well, with you. We used condoms, almost 10 months later now without a condom to try for a 2nd, if I had started on the pill I'd probably have blamed that and beaten myself up.

My friend really wants it too, but he says you can just start now and then stop again around September? But yeah, for those few months, I wonder why bother?

Shove the package insert of the pill under his nose. That crap you get back into your body isn't just going away.
It's basically pure poison and almost Russian roulette with your own life.

If you're planning to try for the next one in not too long, I'd go with condoms. Your body won't have to stop the pill, and your cycle won't get thrown off.
