Boy's name Daem

My partner and I found the name Daem. But according to old Dutch spelling, it would be pronounced as "Daam" (like "dam". Whereas we see it as "Deem" (like "dream". According to Danish spelling, this could work.
What do you think? Can Daem be pronounced as "Deem"?

It 'should' be pronounced as 'Daam', so that would also be my inclination. I think a lot of people won't get how it's supposed to be pronounced anyway, and you and your child would always have to explain it. The question is whether you mind that. I wouldn't choose it myself. By the way, 'Deem' is also the pronunciation of the English word 'dame', so if your son has to introduce himself in English, that doesn't sound very nice either.

I think Daem is a nice name. People get used to it quickly, and if you want, you could also go with Daam.
