Hi,

Tomorrow carnival kicks off, for 5 days. I'm on the waiting bench so I know it's better not to drink alcohol, but first I don't want to tell anyone we're trying, secondly I hardly drank any alcohol last year and that was really a downer. And thirdly, hopefully it's the last carnival without kids, so I want to enjoy it as much as I can. Still I keep doubting.....

What to do? NED 15 February..

    Since you don't know yet if you're pregnant but it's possible, it's best not to drink at all. And if you do drink, do it in moderation. I'm just worried that you'll feel guilty if it turns out you are pregnant, so it's better not to drink. You can still have fun without alcohol.

    You're 6 days before your period... I tested positive 5 days before and was already pregnant. Maybe you could try an early test? An early test might give you some clarity. If you are pregnant and have had a drink, I agree with what's said above that you'll feel guilty the whole time and keep thinking, "Could something happen to my baby because I drank back then?"

    During carnival, do a little test and just enjoy drinking responsibly.
    I also had a lovely time chatting during my waiting period and came back from a weekend getaway only to find out I was pregnant (via IUI).

    There’s no blood connection with your child yet. As long as you eat healthily while drinking, it’s not a big deal!
