pregnant or late

Hi there,

I'll briefly introduce myself. I'm 20 and my boyfriend is 25. We've been trying to conceive for 2 years now. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked out yet.

Normally, my cycle varies between 28 and 34 days. This month, I felt my egg on the 23rd and got a positive ovulation test on the 21st. So now I'm about 9 days past ovulation and testing negative. I have sore breasts, not really bigger or anything, cramps in my legs and back and sides for a few days, just like when I'm about to get my period. The only difference is that when I have those cramps, heavy bleeding follows a few hours later, and now it's not happening. I've had this for a few days. I'm not asking if you know if I'm pregnant. But maybe if someone recognizes this? And if I tested too early again?

Greetings, Scooby Doo!

Thanks in advance for your replies.

You'd normally test 14 days after ovulation. And I'd base it on the longest cycle if you don't get your period next week.

    Wishing you lots of success!

You could definitely be pregnant, but we can never know for sure here. I'd wait a few more days and then take a test.

thank you so much for your replies. you're absolutely right. I'm just getting really impatient because after this round I need to go to the gynecologist. I was hoping it would work out without any tests or help.
I'll wait a bit more and if my period doesn't come, I'll take another test.
    And I'll keep you posted!
ps congratulations on your pregnancies, may healthy babies come out of it!!!!

I hope you test positive. Tests at the hospital can also be useful. But it could be that you've already implanted.

Thank you. I hope for you that you test positive, have an easy pregnancy and birth, and don't forget a healthy baby.

    Is this your first?

    Good morning Hali,

Thank you so much, it's always nice to get that support!
We're trying for our first little miracle. It hasn't quite worked yet unfortunately. I hope that my partner and I are both fertile and that there's nothing wrong. I'm just super nervous about starting that process. Clarity is of course very nice! I'll put that first.
You're due to give birth soon it seems?! Super super super. Even though I can't enjoy it myself, I find it comforting to hear about the beautiful miracles of others. Is this your first baby? And did it take you long?
Would you maybe like to share how it went for you, from when you thought it might be happening and how you felt about it?

I'm not being nosy, haha? Sorry..

    Greetings, Scooby Doo

Hey girl, for us it's also the first one.

For us, it took 18 months before I had a positive test in my hands. After a year, we went to the hospital and they told us we were both fertile, but my husband had reduced swimming sperm (only 2%) and that it was impossible to get pregnant spontaneously. I was stressed, especially because people around me didn't make it easy for me. You've been trying for so long, why aren't you pregnant yet, etc. After 2 inseminations (we already had an appointment for the third) and after telling people around me to stop asking questions, I found some peace. I didn't stress anymore and therefore focused less on the pregnancy. A few days before I was supposed to have my third insemination, they called to cancel. My husband and I were disappointed but thought, well, we got some rest anyway. I didn't get my period after that. I got pregnant spontaneously and tested positive on the day of my expected period (I was sure it would be negative).

I had absolutely no symptoms or anything. I didn't feel like, "yes, I'm pregnant." But I thought, why not, just do a 2-euro test. The first test was the one you see in my profile. I did the second test in the afternoon, after having had a drink or something, and it was negative. I had blood drawn at the GP that day and it was positive but very low; they said it could be a miscarriage. I had blood drawn again 3 days later and then my hCG had risen well. I'm now 41 weeks pregnant. The little one will be in my arms on Monday.

If the hospital tells you that you can't get pregnant spontaneously, I wouldn't stress if I were you. Because I got pregnant myself and not through insemination. Same with my neighbor girl; her husband also had slow swimmers but got pregnant spontaneously. What often helps is having fluid sprayed into your fallopian tubes to check if they're blocked. While they're checking, they also clean them out, and then you can get pregnant faster.

    Wishing you lots of success.

If you want to know anything else, you can always ask me.
