Maybe pregnant and sushi?

Hi ladies! Tomorrow night we're going to a sushi restaurant. My partner and I are trying to conceive, and I'm now more than a week past the date when I (hopefully) should get my period. Is it wise to eat (certain types of) sushi now? Or could it cause a miscarriage if the egg has just implanted? I love sushi, but I don't want to take unnecessary risks either. Would love your advice!

If you think you might be pregnant, I wouldn’t do it. I wouldn’t take that risk. If you’re on your period, you could eat it, but not if you’re trying to conceive. I’m not sure how much harm it could cause though. Otherwise, ask your GP for advice.

    Hi Feetje,
My midwife told me I could eat sushi during my previous pregnancy.
Women in Japan have been doing that for years. Raw meat is still a no-go, but raw fish of good quality was fine according to her.

I also just had sushi during my pregnancy. Many types of fish are actually really good, and you can always ask them to leave out the raw fish (yes, even the sushi itself), but then tempura is a good replacement, for example.
