Fayliene or Fayline, Phileine or something with "belle"

Nice name, fits well with her big sister Noëlle. We're thinking of Phileine or Fayliene. Does Phileine sound like "veilin"? We're looking for a sweet name that isn't very common. Do you have any suggestions, or which name do you think suits Noëlle better?

With the name Phileine, you should indeed be careful. As you say, it sounds like 'vilein' (villainous), but that's not all... The name only exists in the Netherlands since the character in Giphart's book. In it, there is actually a reference to 'vilein', meaning mean! So 'vilein' is simply the meaning of Phileine, as the name originated here in the Netherlands. Naming your daughter Phileine makes it clear that you, as parents, didn't understand the literature well, and/or that you are poorly educated. Therefore, I think it's sensible from the child's best interest to choose a different name.

Fayline, Isabelle or Bella, I find beautiful!
And be careful with the name Phileine.... You don't want all the people who meet your child later to think that her parents misunderstood the literature... Then it looks like she comes from a somewhat less intelligent family, while you might want to give your daughter good opportunities!

If you really think Phileine is very beautiful, then choose something that resembles it, but that doesn't directly refer to 'vilein' in the Netherlands. Ideas from me:

    Phileste
    Philine
    Philise
    Valeine
    Philesta
    Philisa
    Felicia
