@Karin,
Heyhey Karin, the first one was 16 years ago and the other one 12 years ago, so there was a 4-year gap between the first and the last.
The first birth took me 14 hours and the second one about 6 hours.
I'm now pregnant with the third, but there's a 12-year gap again.
I only remember that it hurt, but every pregnancy is different...
So I really don't know what to expect. I'm curious myself, and you're giving birth first, so I hope you'll tell me how it went ..

And of course, if there are other ladies with similar experiences, that would reassure me too. I'm very curious about your answers, of course.

I'm curious too... I have 2 kids, but the first one was born via an emergency C-section. The second one came via the normal route, but it was actually my first normal birth... labor lasted 5 hours. So hopefully, the third one will also be a normal birth, so I'm curious if it might go even faster this time;-) I'm also interested in hearing from ladies with experience...

With the first one (16 years ago), it took me 21 hours... I still remember 3 quarters of pushing contractions.
No idea if it'll go faster now, but honestly, I'm not dreading it at all.
I do hope it can happen naturally, but if it turns out I have too much amniotic fluid, we'll just have to wait and see how that goes.

I remember it hurt a lot, but also what an amazing experience it was, and I'm really glad I get to go through it again.
    Good luck, girls!!

With me, the 2nd birth was much easier! The 1st lasted +/- 17 hours, including 1.5 hours of pushing, and in the end, our daughter was delivered with a vacuum extractor. Our son was born after a birth of about 6 hours, with just a quarter of an hour of pushing.
Now I'm 30 weeks pregnant and really curious how this time will go...

I'm also pregnant with my second and super curious about the answer. I pushed for an hour with my first baby... With your first, this can be max two hours. My doctor says that with the second, you get sent to the hospital after half an hour.

I had a lot of pain during the first birth, I hope this one will be easier. So bring on the positive stories!!

I was also pregnant with my second here.. labor lasted 3 hours. Of that, 54 minutes were pushing. It's been 6 years now. My friend says if you give birth close together (within 2 years), the dilation goes faster and so does the pushing. If there's a bit longer gap like in my case, the dilation usually doesn't go faster, but the pushing does.

Hi hi, all my births have been different. I'm now pregnant with baby #4. 14 years ago my daughter was born prematurely at 36 weeks. Since my waters broke on Friday, I was admitted to the hospital. They tried to stop the contractions, but it didn't work. It took me a whole weekend to give birth to her; Monday was a huge drama, I can tell you.

2 years later, so 12 years ago, my son was born. That went super fast. I called the midwife in the morning and told her I had the urge to push. She came to check and said, "Girl, take a warm shower, this could still take 12 hours." And she left. Over an hour later I called again and said, "Come now, because it's coming." She came and looked and said, "Uh, can you go to your bedroom upstairs?" I crawled upstairs with a huge urge to push, lay down, and she broke my waters, and my son flew out literally. She could barely catch him. (Believe me ladies, that's not healthy for your body either, it really doesn't make sense.)

In 2009, our other son was born in the hospital within 7 hours. I was induced in the morning because I had pregnancy diabetes. During labor I even had a hypoglycemic episode, but everything went super.

Hopefully, as things look now, I'll be able to give birth to our daughter at home. But that's still to be seen; I still have 19 weeks to go.

Hi hi, they say every birth is different but it usually goes faster if you've given birth before. But I'm curious because my first one wasn't that long. I got a call at 9:50 AM saying my water broke, and half an hour later I called the hospital. By 11:30 AM I was inside and already had 2 cm dilation, and an hour later 4 cm. By 2:45 PM I was at 8 cm, but I had to get an epidural which I didn't want but had to because of a double pelvic fracture I got at 36 weeks pregnant. Anyway, on the way to the anesthesiologist I already had the urge to push, like I needed to poop (sorry), but I wasn't allowed to. They put in the epidural, but because I had that urge, I had to wait another hour for it to kick in. That stupid shot held back my last centimeter, so I couldn't push yet Finally, with oxytocin, I was allowed to push at 8:45 PM, and at 8:59 PM we had our son in our hands. They said if I hadn't had the epidural, I could have had him by 3:30 PM, so it was still fast haha. So I'm curious how it'll go with the next one. I guess I'll have to rush to the delivery room then haha.
