Hello dear members,
I'm new here on the forum. Since October 2016 I've stopped the pill. Meanwhile, round 19 has arrived :-( It's making me very insecure... In 2009 I became a mother for the first time to a healthy daughter. She is now 8 years old. I got pregnant then in the 6th round.
Maybe my age, just 35 now, plays a role? I've had a new relationship for 3 years. My boyfriend hasn't had a fertility test yet. He also has a daughter from a previous relationship.
Normally I always have a cycle of 28 or 29 days, sometimes 30. Exceptionally 35 days. The 2nd round I had a positive test in hand. However, after 3 days on day 35 I bled heavily with clots for only 1.5 days.. the midwife told me it was probably a chemical pregnancy.
Now I've arrived in round 19... I started bleeding on day 24. I've never had such a short cycle in my life. I'm losing bright red to dark red blood with clots. Could this still be about implantation or not? Who has experienced this too?

I normally have a cycle of 32/35 days. Suddenly, I got my period on day 27. After that, I was pregnant. Hopefully, the same happens for you now. I also didn't understand why it came so early this time, but after the positive pregnancy test, I didn't care anymore . Unfortunately, this pregnancy ended in a miscarriage.
Now, after the miscarriage, I had a cycle of 26 days, even though they say that after a miscarriage, there's a big chance that your period won't come for about 6-8 weeks.

Hi Soof, thanks for your message. If I understand correctly, you had a short cycle of 27 days and got pregnant in the next round? Or did you have implantation bleeding on day 27? If I exceptionally have a short cycle of 24 days now, it'll already be attempt 19 soon :-(. I'm not so confident anymore that I'll get pregnant spontaneously within 2 years... I'll wait for this bleeding to finish. Maybe it'll stop after today. And then I can test next week. But I assume it's my period. How weird I find such a short cycle.

That's right, a short cycle of 27 days. Got pregnant in the cycle after that. I had used ovulation tests for the first time back then because I usually assumed a 32/35-day cycle. I thought with a 27-day cycle I'd just use those tests once to get a better idea. The cycle I got pregnant in, I had a positive test on day 18. So it was actually more like a 32-day cycle after all.

Don't give up! You've both proven that you can have children. Hold on to that, even though I know it's really hard!

Thanks Soof. Sorry for my late reply. I also hold on to the belief that it will hit the mark one day. Every disappointment... :-( I don't understand my own body anymore. I used to not take the pill for several years and my period came like clockwork, every cycle was 28 days. Back then I didn't have a relationship and didn't feel I needed that hormonal mess.
Now I get sharp stabs left and right a few days after ovulation until my period. The other month I get lower back pain after ovulation and no stabs. I notice that when I feel those stabs and my period comes, I have a lot of clots and lose deep dark red blood. And when I don't feel them that month, I have normal bleeding.
So I don't understand any of it... I think I'll ask for a referral to the gynecologist. I tested light positive once. Wonder if that was a false positive. And that was the 2nd round. I'm already in round 19...

@Miracle2018 I can totally relate to your story. We've also been trying since October 2016, but for our first baby. However, we haven't had a positive test yet

For the past 3 months, I've been using ovulation tests and taking my temperature every morning (before that, I didn't want to do this because I felt I was already too involved in it all).

At the end of December, we took the step to see our GP, and now we're scheduled for an intake and physical exam at the hospital on Jan 30. We'll get the results on Feb 14.

An acquaintance of mine was also trying for about two years without success. She eventually went to the hospital, and they ended up flushing her fallopian tubes. The next month, she got pregnant. This was the tipping point for us to see the GP too—maybe they can help with something small to make it work for us too ;-)

Hope you'll be expecting your first baby together soon

@meid22 Thanks for your reply. It's good to know that others are in the same boat. You also stopped the pill around the same time. Almost 1.5 years..feels like way too long to me :-(.
Next Thursday I have my first appointment with the GP. Last Friday I had a cervical smear test for cervical cancer and the doctor told me that I was close to ovulation...and that was day 10. So maybe we also missed out on many chances because I assumed my ovulation was on day 14....
I wish you all the best with the tests. And with a spontaneous pregnancy.

@Miracle thanks for your sweet message. We're indeed in the same boat then ;-) We have our first appointment the day after tomorrow. I can tell I'm a bit nervous because I don't exactly know what to expect ;-) I hope 2018 will be a beautiful year for both of us.
