Experience with NannyCare

Sanne
On my insurance company's website, I saw that NannyCare is fully covered. But I'm wondering if it's any good and if anyone has experience with it. I'd never heard of it before.
Please share your thoughts!

We also have one through our insurance. It’s really amazing, you’re much calmer until your baby is big enough to start crawling into the bed.

Got one through insurance here too, really a very nice mat. Our youngest has been a tummy sleeper since birth and it was so nice to have that mat underneath. We've stopped using it now because he's too active in bed (standing, crawling around) and then the mat keeps coming loose. If you get it reimbursed by insurance, I'd definitely request it!

    Hey Lexie,
I just wanted to thank you for that tip!!!
I bought one (second-hand for only 20 euros and really as good as new!!)
I'm really incredibly happy with it.
The person I bought it from took it herself to sleep peacefully, which she didn't dare do before out of fear that something would go wrong.
    But you mentioned a mat?
Mine is really just a thin iron plate.

I looked it up for you, and at the Silver Cross you can apply for it once your baby is born, as long as you have at least two stars of supplementary insurance! And you need to explain why you need it!

Normally over €100, but once your baby is born and you apply because your baby is a tummy sleeper, you get it reimbursed.

    Hi Olivia-Anna,

It's indeed more like a sort of plaque/rectangular board with a cord attached. Not a flexible mat, no

Thanks for the replies! I am indeed insured with Zilveren Kruis. But can I only apply for it after the baby is born and mention that it's a womb sleeper? But I agree that they should provide it as standard!

Yes, indeed, Sanne, what you say is true! They should include it in the hospital bag, in my opinion.

Yeah, I kind of have this thought: How do you know if your little one is a tummy sleeper?? You only see it when they're asleep (and you're taking the risk) it'll happen on one of the first nights!! And they don't even have to be tummy sleepers, you know..

I hadn't heard of it either actually
Seems pretty handy, I think you'll sleep a lot more peacefully.
Go take a look around too

    @ Olivia Anna;
Our oldest didn’t sleep through until he could roll over on his own, and I found him on his tummy in the morning after a night of sleeping through (I initially freaked out because I thought he had suffocated!). Our youngest also didn’t sleep well until we put him on his tummy, and then it got much better. He was already sleeping on his tummy when he was in his crib next to us.

We got our crib by chance via Marktplaats. But ideal. I don't have to worry about his breathing or get nervous if he's been quiet for a while. Totally great. Only at first, we often forgot to turn it off, especially at night when we were half-asleep lifting our baby out. Then we were already in the nursery and suddenly all the alarms would go off hihi. But at least it works then. We also have an AeroDeck for good breathing in case he rolls over later.

    Hi,
I’ve become very positive and reassured by this mat.
My first daughter I found blue in bed, spent a week in the hospital, and half a year after the check-up. It would have been SIDS without intervention. My husband found the nanny mat because it helped me sleep peacefully again.
I’ve been using it for my second daughter for a year now and feel very safe with it.
I see reactions like “my child rolled off!” But probably the child is already a bit older and can already alert well if something goes wrong. It’s really about the baby’s first months.
I’m really happy with it, we unfortunately didn’t know we got it insured so we paid for it ourselves!
    Greetings, Marieanne
