Pill after curettage

Hi everyone,

On 12/12 I had a D&C. At that time I was 9 weeks pregnant, and the baby had stopped growing at 6 weeks. The D&C was a conscious choice for us, not mandatory. However, my gynecologist advised me to take the pill (Gracial) for a month afterward because it helps the uterus heal faster by building up a thicker lining.

On Tuesday 2/1 I took my last pill in the evening—what I had been looking forward to! But as of today (Sunday 7/1), I still haven't had my period. Last night I had a tiny bit of bleeding for just a moment; I thought it was my period, but it only happened once.

Are there any other ladies who took the pill after a D&C? How did you experience it?

Warm regards

    Hi Mamske.
I just came across your post; I'm in exactly the same boat as you right now. Miscarriage at 9 weeks and after taking Cytotec twice, I still ended up having a D&C. Now it's been 3 weeks since the procedure, and a period should be starting this week... May I ask how things went for you in the end? I realize it varies from woman to woman, but it's nice to chat with someone who understands... In my circle, no one has gone through this, as far as I know... Thank you. Best wishes

    Hi,

I also had to induce a miscarriage on 12/12 using Cytotec. I was 9 weeks too, but we think the baby stopped growing at 5 weeks.. I took Cytotec and went through everything, including the cramps and bleeding.. afterwards I also had a D&C. 2 days after the D&C I started on Gracial (because I had to) because I didn't want to at first. But I did it anyway to let the uterus recover better. I have to take 3 weeks / 31 days / 1 pack, I'm now on the last pills. Saturday is my last, but today heavy bleeding underwear, pants and tampon were full.. (sorry for the lots of info) but I don't know if this is normal or not.. and then the "real periods" still have to come. Is this normal?

Hello ladies, I just had a second miscarriage. The first one was spontaneous. For the second one, they induced it with Cytotec on December 10th, but it didn't work out... On Monday, January 6th, I suddenly lost the gestational sac after bleeding, so the curettage that was scheduled for today didn't go ahead. My uterus is empty. But I'm not supposed to take any pills. Why are you taking them? My body is healing itself, they told me. ...
