After an (early) miscarriage, when is it safe to try again?

Hi ladies,

I'm wondering if anyone has experience with an early miscarriage and when their period came back.
Or did your cycle stay the same? Or did it take longer to get back on track?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hi Baby05, are you still waiting for your message? I am too. It's been 5 weeks since I had the miscarriage. But last Thursday I got a positive ovulation test. So I know my period will come soon. I probably didn't ovulate because of a cyst, so I expect to get my period. But then I hope to get back into my normal cycle.

Hey Clautjuh, nice that you replied. From when do you count? From when you started bleeding or when you lost the embryo?
If I go by the bleeding, that's December 6th, but on December 10th the embryo came out...
So I thought count from the bleeding? Then your cycle starts again. At the midwife's I already had cervical mucus and could (second call because first she said you can expect your period within a week or earlier) see a cycle starting again.
That's why I assumed 28 days and my EDD is January 3rd?

My body handled everything really well, luckily. My cycle resumed normally. I got a miscarriage at over 6 weeks. Two months later, I was pregnant again and I'm now 30 weeks along. Good luck, ladies!

And Clautjuh, I already had an early miscarriage on November 8th. And this little one was about 8 weeks old then; today it would have been 11 weeks and 5 days pregnant... but well...

I didn't see a gestational sac, had an early miscarriage a few days after a positive test. Bleeding for a day and a half and nothing else. But my body apparently needs some time to recover. Had a bit more bleeding 2 weeks after the miscarriage but the midwife also saw some blood in my uterus on the ultrasound. And I had heard from the gynecologist that I have a cyst on both ovaries. So I think that's what slowed down my cycle a bit. But he said they'll go away on their own. I actually hope they disappear after my period. Weird but I'll be happy to get my period hihi.
It's so nice that you got pregnant again so quickly Wensje! Congratulations.

Thank you so much, Wensje2, for your reply.
I have a feeling that I’ll also have a normal cycle, but I’m not sure, of course, I could be wrong.
In that case, it would also be nice to have a normal cycle after an early miscarriage.

Hope you can get your period soon, Clautjuh!
    That would be nice, right?
I’ll have to see if I’ll get my period because we didn’t use protection.

Yes, I hope you don't get your period either!

Thanks, Clautjuh. We'll just have to wait and see, and all these days feel so long, pffff.
