Winter coat or winter suit and what size?

My youngest daughter was also born in February. I dressed her in a winter jacket, hat, and scarf, size 56, and added an extra blanket in the stroller. You do have to buy a new jacket quite often for those little ones, but I usually went one size up so they could use it longer. And if it was really cold, I put the rain cover over the stroller for extra protection. I don’t know if you can click the Maxi-Cosi onto your stroller—I have no experience with that (I had a regular stroller basket).

    Hey Bianca,
My question might be a bit silly, though I don’t think your question is silly at all!
    What is a Lodger???
Our girl is due in early December, and I’ve got a bit of everything: really thick crawling suits, blankets, sleeping bags, and indeed a rain cover.
(I’ve also knitted hats and such, so I can make different sizes.)
Just to be safe, I bought a few different sizes of winter suits. I’d have to buy them eventually anyway, so why not now?
Then I’m well prepared, you never know how big the little one will be, right?

    Good luck with it!!

A jacket is really recommended, and indeed size 56, size 50 you'll outgrow quickly. A onesie with just a long-sleeve shirt might be too cold; you should dress babies like yourself + an extra layer.

A Lodger in a special swaddle blanket.

Hi Olivia, a lodger is a swaddle blanket. I already knew that from my previous birth because my husband is from Kosovo and they always use that there. The first time I saw it, I thought, "Where are they putting their baby now? Completely wrapped up with arms and all." It's a tradition, and I tried it too, and my little girl loved it.

So for this birth, I'll wrap her up again

    Love, Tammi

Hi Bianca, my due date is January 14th. We bought a kind of snowsuit (winter jacket) for 0 to 3 months, with hands and feet attached so they’re not exposed. Inside it has some kind of fur-like lining, really warm.. and of course we also provide a hat and an extra blanket. This is really what you feel is right for yourself. But the Lodger might indeed be a bit too cold.
    Greetings

They have a really cute set for 14.95 at Zeeman in white, so it works for both boys and girls. It's handy that there's a hole in it so you can still secure the baby in the Maxi-Cosi. I bought this one in size 62—better to go a bit big than too small!
