    That's how I'd pronounce them, I think!

    I feel the same. Since Sisi is a brand and sissi is English for wimp/loser, I wouldn't choose that. Yaa and Ummie I find quite unusual. I do think Faizah is beautiful. I also like Uma (oema) but it's not African, of course. Maybe Safiya, Malika, Nala, Aziza, Nya, Zaila, Kessie, Ashante (aas-ján-tee) instead.
