Pregnant after losing a baby

Hi everyone

It's been over two months since I gave birth to our second baby. He passed away in the womb and was stillborn. It's been such a heavy time.

We've now received the results of various tests and know the cause. The gynecologist has also given us the green light to try again. But wow, do I feel guilty! I don't find much understanding in my circle; sometimes I get the feeling that people don't dare to talk about it or don't know what to say, which is why I'm here looking for some shared experience

I had a period now (four weeks ago) and I'm feeling all sorts of things. First of all, physically: burning heartburn, sensitive nipples, gurgling intestines, constant nausea, increased appetite, extreme fatigue, cramps, emotional.. All symptoms that could indicate pregnancy, but also symptoms that could signal an approaching period. When we decided to leave things to chance and not use contraception, I never could have imagined feeling this incredibly insecure. I did take a test (very early..) and it was negative, so for now I'm just assuming my period will come soon

Taking that test gave me a huge sense of guilt towards our little boy, since it's only been less than three months since he was born. I feel so guilty because I'm already so focused on a next pregnancy, feeling all these things and maybe even wanting to feel them, and deep down I hope to get pregnant again soon, even though I hide that hope away..

Is this relatable for people who have gone through something similar (or know someone who has)?

Love, Veer

I became unexpectedly pregnant with my daughter, now 1 year old, 6 months after my son passed away right after birth. I see her as a little gift from my son. Something beautiful that came out of a sad period. And yes, of course, I would have preferred to have both of them alive with me. I will never forget him. A next child will never replace the one you lost.
I think your surroundings will only be happy for you when you're pregnant again. Most people find death uncomfortable because they don't know how to act. Not because they're blunt, but often because they don't want to hurt you.
