Is this normal?

Just a quick question. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for a few months now. Unfortunately, it hasn't happened yet, but I'm sure it will soon.
Well, I had my period last week. It was two weeks later than usual though.
But then yesterday I started bleeding again. Really heavy bleeding. I had to change my pad every half hour and it was completely soaked. Bright red and with blood clots. I've never had this before? What could be the cause? It's much less now though.
But can you get your period so soon after the previous one?

    Hi Jolanda..

    I had the same thing. I was trying to get pregnant for 7 months myself.. After the 4th day (after a positive test) when I was supposed to get my period, I did, and it was heavy! Cramps, blood clots, etc..

    I have an appointment with the doctor.. I'll let you know what he says. I'm thinking it might be a miscarriage since I'm still getting my period.

    Oh wow, that doesn’t sound good at all. Especially since you had a positive test. Oh my goodness. Take a moment to process the shock.
    We’ve only been trying for 3 months now.
    But oh my goodness. I never even considered a miscarriage. Oh my, that probably isn’t it, right? After all, I had my period a week before. I really hope it’s not that and that everything turns out okay. Keep me posted.

    It could be that you just got your period while you were pregnant. I’d definitely take a test if I were you.
    Did you have a lot of stomach cramps yesterday when you got your “period”?
    I’ve got an appointment first thing tomorrow morning, and I’ll definitely let you know how it goes.
    It’s exciting, isn’t it, starting out like this while trying to get pregnant? We’ve only really been actively trying in the last few months because it hasn’t worked for seven months now, and after this positive test and probably a miscarriage, we want to be as sure as possible.

    Yeah, that’s totally fine. We’ll wait and see. I just had a bit of period-like cramps, but really very mild.
    How was it at the doctor’s? Did you come away with any clearer understanding? I hope everything’s okay.
