Penis-cervix ratio during sex

Hi everyone,

I’ve been trying to get pregnant for about half a year. Thanks to this forum, I’ve already learned a lot about my own body, cycle, etc. However, I still have a question that I can’t find an answer to:

- You can feel your cervix with your finger (and your finger is about 7cm long)
- The average penis is 15cm when erect
-> So where is the penis located during sex, in relation to the cervix?

Personally, I feel like my uterus is tilted more to the left, and that the penis bumps right past it during sex. If that’s the case, isn’t it difficult to get pregnant, since the sperm still needs to reach the uterus?

Hopefully, someone understands what I mean. I find it strange that this question (finger 7cm - penis 15cm - how does it actually work?) hasn’t been asked yet.

I hope someone can help me and reassure me...

Lots of love,

Lori

Your cervix doesn’t stay at the same height throughout your whole cycle. During your fertile days, it sits higher up and opens a little. Your vagina is very flexible and stretches during sex. The penis might bump against it in certain positions, which can sometimes feel sensitive. Even if it goes past it, the sperm will find its way there anyway. That’s no harm. Some positions are better, like missionary. And lying down for a bit helps. Good luck!

No idea how it works in terms of centimeters, never really thought about how deep it goes. I don't think it has to be that the penis is exactly at the cervix during orgasm? But maybe others know. I think my uterus is also a bit tilted, definitely towards the end of my pregnancy and after birth the back of the head was also a bit tilted due to the passage. But otherwise no idea because I only have my husband to compare with he

    Hi Clautjuh and Hartje,
Thanks for your helpful and reassuring replies; it really means a lot to me!
I also hope that the sperm will find its way, especially if the woman also orgasms and the uterus contracts (and thus draws the sperm towards it?). I know I'm overthinking this, but if it takes a bit longer, you start to think something's wrong with you at the slightest sign .

    Thanks again! Lori

You don't necessarily have to climax, okay? We had sex every other day, and I stayed lying there for a bit.

I totally get that! I sometimes had the same feeling during sex, thinking: "This has to be it, because it's going in the perfect direction, hihi." T didn't say anything about it though. I hope it happens quickly for you. And yeah, not cleaning up too quickly makes sense, so they can swim strong

Lying down is noted, haha. Then the husband can go get the laptop so I can watch a series while lying down.. Maybe also drinks and snacks .

The little dance between a man and a woman is nature itself. But sometimes nature lets you down a bit. The important thing is not to lose hope, but also not to force it. Just let go, DON'T think about making babies, and enjoy. Usually, after a while, when you least expect it, you'll find out it's a success. Welcome this new life with lots of love. Sometimes it takes a bit longer. Although it's easier said than done, don't let it get into your head. Sex and love are so natural that you should plan them as little as possible. If it comes your way and you feel good about it, go for it, enjoy it. There's nothing more freeing than good sex where your whole mind is emptied and only the vibrations of your body guide you.
